I was not quite happy with this hotel room, which was clean, spacious and sunny, but as several other reviewers have pointed out, the rooms facing the main square participate in all the night life therein, which goes on until the wee hours of the morning.

I personally slept anyway, and actually enjoyed spending a few minutes at the room's bay window which overlooked the square, watching the people go by after turning in. But light sleepers beware! Ask for a back room.

Breakfast was served in a spacious room and there was plenty of choice. Service was uniformly EXCELLENT, from the front desk to the late-night tea to the room cleaning. All contact was helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Front rooms for great views over the square IF you sleep deeply! Back rooms for light sleepers.

A one night stay at this hotel was fine for me. Had a room at the back with twin beds which was quite large and fairly quiet. Some downsides - thin walls and a verandah outside my window that smokers used. The location was good for a cold winter's night: there's a pedestrian street full of restaurants just outside the door of the hotel to the left. And yes the cathedral clock does chime on the hour (I noticed it from 4am on) but it doesn't peal, and at least you know what time it is without having to turn on your phone! Breakfast was in a pleasant room and it was ample.

Room Tip: If you don't care about a view the rooms at the back are quiet and may be slightly larger than t...

The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from the station on the town square near a great shopping area.
We received a warm welcome, and spent one night in a spacious room overlooking the town square. Although the actual lobby area is rather gloomy, the room and bathroom were modern, light, basic and very clean.
The hotel serves breakfast in a modern breakfast room, with a choice of typical Dutch cold meat and cheese, or scrambled eggs. We highly recommend this hotel for tourists/business travellers to Tilburg and families en-route through the Netherlands.

Room Tip: For light sleepers we advise you NOT to book a room overlooking the square, as the restaurants and p...

The central location of the hotel turned out to be the main reason why we were not able to slep untill 2:00 AM in the morning. The bars/disco's outside are so loud that you can hear the lyrics in your room (with all windows closed).

So do not go here on the regular nights that students drin (Thursday-Sunday)

Great city centre location, we were going to a rock concert at Poppodium 013, which is just a one minute walk away. Shops are just across the square. No hotel car park, but safe indoor public car park nearby and hotel has a special price deal, normal 24 hour parking is €25, hotel deal is €6.

The street layout has changed quite recently, so sat nav may have a bit of a problem. The street is now one-way.

This is not a deluxe full service hotel with lots of staff, room service etc. We didn't see many staff, but when we did they were extremely pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was included in room rate and was very good continental style, and until 11am at weekends ! Rooms are good but quite simple and functional, beds just a bit small and Spartan, bathroom modern and excellent. No tea/coffee facilities in room.

Our room was at the side of the hotel so we did not experience the late night street noise reported by others, however the church bells chime on the hour starting at 7am, so don't expect a lie-in !

I was a bit surprised at being asked to pay on arrival, but this was not a major issue. As there is no bar or restaurant there is no need to charge things to the room, loads of cafes, bars and restaurants very nearby (Note: not all restaurants take credit cards).

Cost was a bit high for what it is, but if you need to stay right in the town centre there really is not much choice. Would I stay again ? Yes, but I would compare prices with the Mercure right across the road first. The City Hotel and the Mercure are in almost exactly the same place, which you choose is up to you. Late night street noise and the church bells could be a problem in this area regardless of which hotel.
.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the front at weekends due to some late night street noise.

Did not enjoy the stay at this hotel at all.
they take full amount at checkin time. I got a room with twin beds, i asked for a double bed, but they only have twin beds. The view of the room was poor. All I could see was the church. The churh bells go off every hour, and even with the windows closed, they can heard, and can wake you up during the night. My room was at the end of the corridor, near the fire exit, where everyone is allowed to smoke. The smell of the smoke can be smelt in the room, which is not nice for non smokers. The breakfast is very cheap budget. not much choice. Wireless internet is not free. I would recommend staying at the Mercure across the road.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the square.
