I revisted De Efteling after 12 years and found it still to be an amazing day out. It is expensive but our kids went on all the roller-coasters and many many other rides and experiences. I had another go in Villa Volta which is a very clever illusion and was the first one of its kind in the world. It was very cold but there are lots of indoor places to take refuge and to sit and have a drink.
Our visit was on April 3 and the Dutch schools were not on holiday at this time which meant that there were very few queues for any of the rides. I can imagine that it must get pretty hectic in the summer. The Sprookje Bos was even more charming than I remembered and the whole De Efteling experience is magical, fairytale (but in the Grimm style!) and wonderfully spooky in parts. The park itself was clean and well kept, with numerous toilet facilities over all the areas.
Do take a full day to visit as it is expensive and a large park to get around everything. Wonderful!!
