As a woman traveling to Europe alone in order to attend a convention at MECC, it was wonderful to be welcomed here by Nicole. She and her family live in the charming restored townhouse, and there are 3 rooms for hotel guests. Upon my arrival Nicole oriented me to the city with maps and restaurant suggestions, and walking directions to MECC (a pleasant 2 km distance). Although the house is located on a busy street, the room (So What) faced the back courtyard and was completely quiet. The room itself is decorated attractively in a modern style. The bed is quite comfortable. The bathroom is very nice with a rain-shower as well as a handheld shower. It should be noted that the bathroom is separated from the sleeping area by a partition, not a door, which could present a problem if more than one person is sharing the room. There is a large table and 2 chairs in the room as well as a deluxe tea/coffee maker and a CD player (Nicole will supply you with her beloved Miles Davis CDs). Free wireless internet access. There is a china cabinet in the hall with dishes, silverware, and glassware for your use.
Breakfast is around the corner at Bread and Delicious, a wonderful bakery with friendly service. It is possible to order a full breakfast including an egg, granola/yogurt, and of course a breakfast roll or pastry. They have a nice selection of loose teas.
After checkout I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel until my evening departure.
Overall a great value with a personal touch.
