“Appealing medieval ambience indeed but not so practical place to stay overnight for some of us.”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

Our entry to our second floor bedroom began with climbing narrow steep steps; on our 13th step landed a cathedral ceiling room. This hotel was an authentic cathedral but with today's price (weaken currency vs euro) and medieval space & plumbing problems (both leaky vanity sink & bath tub's small glass door did not stop wetting the bathroom floor).... Not much space for either side of the double bed; one side: watch your head against the supporting strut overhung the bed and the other: a sleepy head may take you a dangerous plunge to the bottom of the steps. Aren't we getting old such things start bothering us? Also the hotel displays a poem in each room; ours happens to be The Old Men. For our reading pleasure, a book of poems in four different languages provided for 35 euros. No Bible? After all, this place is NO longer church but now is a commercial entity for those of us seeking for one of a king place to stay.

We spent three nights here while attending a conference at the MEC. The setting of this hotel is amazing: a restored church repurposed in high modern design as a boutique hotel. The rooms are starkly modern, and the bathroom is huge and luxurious, with lovely large fluffy towels. It is partitioned off from the bedroom with a glass partition, so is essentially part of the bedroom. The toilet is thankfully separate.
The location is close to the main square and shopping area, but difficult to get to the Conference center, as there are few busses and taxies are expensive. Outdoor noise was not an issue - closing the windows was great soundproofing. We had free wifi in our room. Note that there is no aircon, just a fan. We did not eat in the hotel - too many good options in easy walking distance. Desk staff were helpful with recommendations.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in April 2014. The hotel is unusual in that it was originally a church. The inside of the hotel is really beautiful. The Prestige room we stayed in was very nice and comfortable. After checking in a gentlemen from reception escorted us to our room explaining various features of the hotel along the way. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a great location and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location, friendly staff. Our room in the main building was spacious and beautifully decorated. Water pressure in the shower must be improved, in our room this was below standard. Unfortunately there is no wifi in the rooms, with modern technology this is unacceptable.

This is a very unusual and different designer hotel in an old church and cloister. It has been very cleverly modified leaving the church windows and walls totally untouched to good effect and using the space in the cloisters for lovely rooms. We had a dinner and two breakfasts and the food was reasonable and the service generally friendly. It did run out of food on the second very busy breakfast which is really not very good and the staff consequently stressed a bit which has lost them an excellent. It was still very good though. Great location for the centre of town. There are lots of other eateries there some of which I am sure would rival the dinner in the hotel. Worth a trip, worth a stay, worth exploring further

Great architectural concept, beautiful public spaces, but don't get stuck in"annex" where rooms are in separate building, windows open to street, so need to keep blinds shut or people walking and delivery truck drivers look in. Also very noisy with hotel delivery trucks idling outside room.
Hotel has no regular wifi. Took 40 min for attendant to set up special device in room.

Restaurant - interesting menu - now all "small plates". Poor service. As hotel guest with reservation, they tried to sit us between open service area and elevator. Waiter inconsistent. Overall not worth it. Most of same menu available in bar with much better service.
