I stayed here, when on a business exhibition at Maastricht. The hotel charges quite a huge premium (adjacent to the exhibition venue); but is a total disappointment. the facility is strictly just ok.
Very over priced, and rude non co-operative staff. I came in at about 11am (after a 9hr flight) and 3hr bus journey; and the hotel was just not ready to give me an advance room. Not only that, they gave the room only post 6pm. I had to finally search, find a small washroom in the basement to change for the exhibition.
Exit was even worse. We wanted to check out a day early, due to the long drive back to Brussels, and the infamous traffic jams. However, the hotel was completely unwilling to cancel extra room (for 3 of us) despite requesting 3 days in advance, citing some strange corporate booking policy. I have never ever had a case where one cant cancel a room 72hrs in advance, anywhere in the world.
ended up paying some 200 odd Euro's extra for the extra night. Very disappointed with my experience, and dont ever propose to stay again at this facility.

We stayed in this hotel during the weekend, as it is primarily a business hotel, you get what you want at a price. As it turned out, standard was good enough for us. Although away from the city centre, to get there is very easy, you can rent electrical assisted bikes, mopeds (speed limit 25 kph, so no helmet) there are plenty of buses or a refreshing walk along the riverbank will do you good!
Breakfast was a real treat, the serving period is from early morning to nearly brunch-time. All you can eat and plenty of it!

Room Tip: depending on the time of year and the side of the hotel, you might want to add A/C. Ask about the lo...

I stayed at this hotel do to its proximity to the MECC (congress center), where I was attending a conference. It turns out if you are an attendee of a conference at the MECC, your conference ID allows you to travel public transit for free. There are numerous bus lines that stop at the MECC. The NH Hotel is way over price for what they offer. You have to pay extra for room internet hook-up, using their exercise room, and for air conditioning. The breakfast they offer, coffee, juice, fresh fruit and bread, and yogurt will cost you 20 Euros, while if you are willing to walk 15 minute to a nearby restaurant, you can have the same breakfast for half the price. I asked for a room with one bed to share with my wife. We got a room with two single beds push together. For the amount of money they want, you can fine a better deal.

Everything cost more. Parking, pay more. Air condition, pay more. Internet, pay more. Sauna, pay more. I finished paying almost the double of what I was quoted at NH site.

Room Tip: If you are attending something at MECC, great location. If ot, choose something else.

NH Hotel is a business-hotel located just in front of the MECC (congress center). We staied there for a long weekend and we walked about 15 minutes to reach the city-center. The stroll was nice because it's always along the Maas river.
The breakfast food was healthy, varried and delicious.
We just regret the poor quality of the beds.

NH Maastricht is a decent hotel, located in the outskirts of Maastricht in an area where the university campus, the main hospital and the MECC exhibition centre are located as well. The hotel is conveniently located near the A2 motorway (Amsterdam-Maastricht-Liege). From the nearby Randwyck train station, up to 5 trains an hour will take you to the main station of Maastricht in 3 minutes. There is also a bus stop nearby. A bustrip to the city centre takes about 10 minutes.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, so is the hotel as a whole. In terms of staff, they don't really give a personal touch to the hotel. But we didn't mind that, since we spent most of our time in the city center. It's pretty much a business hotel that makes some extra cash during the weekends when people from all over the country and surrounding countries visit Maastricht.

If breakfast is included in your rate, you're up for a big treat. The breakfast selection is very extensive, and everything is fresh out of the kitchen and very tasty! If breakfast is not included in your rate; the hotel offers breakfast for a much more affordable rate than during weekdays. Highly recommended if you need a fresh start!

Two big cons:

1) Our room lacked any form of aircon. We had to survive our nights with a small fan during 2 very hot nights.

2) Parking your car in the parking spot of the hotel is a attack on your wallet if you are on a budget. For about +/- 12 euro a day, there are parking spots near the hospital and university buildings. Or even better, use the nearby small residential area. It's about 3 minutes away by foot.

3) The beds were too hard and the pillows too soft. Not the best combination if you need a comfortable sleeping session.

The overall experience was okay, and Maastricht is a great city to spend the weekend. Make sure you visit the nearby town of Valkenburg as well for a typical "Dutch Highlands" experience. The hotel is worth a second stay, but the next time we probably prefer something a little bit cheaper and with a bit of personality. But if you need a stay just for the stay: recommended!
