“Very good food; but not busy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

To celebrate our 40th anniversary, my wife had booked this restaurant as a surprise. We really had a lovely time, albeit that we were the only couple in the restaurant, on a Friday night mind you.
Still the food was great; the service was impeccable and we had a very good chef with the chef-owner.
We really enjoyed it; thanks very much.

“A café in disguise”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

Nothing more than a dressed up Dutch café. Dull furniture, ugly artwork bearing a ridiculous price label (maybe in case you trip over one and break it). Unimaginative food although decently prepared and overpriced cheap wines to go with it. Unfeeling waiters. Even the bill was wrong, obviously in excess. Can't think of a good reason to go there.

“Great food, great waiters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2011

Ate here at my weddingevening with a group of 7. From the beginning to the end everything was just perfect. If you are vegetarian this chef serves you great alternatives without meat or fish as if he was a vegetarian himself.
I loved the atmosphere and they made my evening just perfect.
I would advise this place to everybody who wants to go out dining for a whole evening.

“highly overrated and quite expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2011

If you want upmarket dining, go Toine Hermsen, Tout a Fait, Rozemarijn, O, and of course Beluga.
This place is stuck years ago, but doenst get classic quality on the plate. The sauces are just not it, they lack intensity. The combinations are OK, but not synergetic. Fish was a bit dry...
Winelist below average.
Staff lacks knowledge on the food.

“Magnific is the name but also the place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2008

This restaurant, a little bit outside of the center of maastricht (in the area of the hospital), is a place to go if you are visiting maastricht. In front of fields where you can see horses running, this restaurant has a very nice interior. The menu is great and I would strongly recommend the "Bib Gourmand" menu. This 3 courses meal has a choice of fresh products, served in a very design way, and with an incredible tatse. For the wines, simply ask advices to the wine keeper, he always tells you the best choice.
really a place to stop.
