An incredible authentic location with one of the most beautiful suites I ever visited. Alas there are some drawbacks. Although the place has all the ingridients of an absolute top hotel not all the staff is up to the job. Somehow the ownership of the quite average Van der Valk hotels drips through. Staff are willing but don't quite get it which results in slightly anoying moments. Still quite a nice experience.
Fabulous place, We have been here several times visiting from Canada. We then stay in one of the "pachthuis" suites located in a separate building from the castle. Private entrance, private patio overlooking the moat, very good service.
The Auberge and the terrace of the castle are great places for coffee or a snack.

Plus they often have special menu's during the year, so nice.

We enjoyed one of the junior suites on the ground floor as we were bringing our 3 month old daughter. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with good quality beds and furniture. The room is ideal for disabled and people bringing babies and strollers.
The historic castle is nicely transformed in a hotel. The location is close to the city and in the middle of nature with other historic sites.
Staff was extremely hospitable and were even willing to give a help in hand with our little daughter diner breakfast, lunch and, or dinner. We had a very pleasant stay and would like to thank all people at the hotel for their hospitality and service.
Kasteel Terworm was originally built in the late Middle Ages and was recently renovated. It sits on a large estate with beautiful grounds- complete with a lovely rose garden, beehives, cattle and a tree-lined lane. It's about 2 km from the Heerlen train station. The rooms are large with a separate sitting area, well stocked mini bar, massive bed, and luxurious bathroom. Breakfast buffet has a good choice of cooked and cold foods to suit every taste. We did not eat lunch or supper here. Greatly enjoyed the relaxing stay.
