“A lot to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

When we visited the museum there were around 3 differents expositions. It is the first good point: you will always see something that you will find interesting, and/or beautiful.

You can easily spend 2 or 3 hours in this nice museum!

“Nice museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Came to see the Ai Weiwei exhibit, which while I have reservations about, was a thought provoking exhibit. Strong collection, interesting architecture although a bit stuck in the 1980s. Worth checking out some of the smaller exhibitions and collections as well. Conveniently located across the street from the train station. Moat around museum was a bit skanky, which considering it being an architectural feature, you would think it would be maintained.

“Beautiful museum in a great spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

The Groninger Museum is one of the gems of the city of Groningen. Famous for its beautiful exterior and praised for the thoughtfully designed interior, this museum is a must if you visit Groningen and by itself worthwhile to make the trip.

“Interesting Ai Weiwei exhibition until mid Nov 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

The Groninger Museum is definitely worth a visit when you are in the area. Its design and set-up are very refreshing. I was personally impressed by the exhibition of contemporary Chinese art, curated by Ai Weiwei, which is on display until mid November 2013. The exhibition, of which I will not mention the name here as it will probably lead to my review not being accepted (check the museum's website..), impressively portrays the rebellion/opposition of modern day Chinese artists to the many dark sides of the modern day Chinese society.
