What a treat I enjoyed last night at De Nieuwe Winkel. Don't be fooled by a fairly simple exterior and similarly plain interior, the food does all the talking.
Everything on the menu was surprising, original, very well prepared, and presented in a novel way. Menu changes quite frequently so I don't want to make your mouth water too much but the duck variations and the cornflake macaron were my absolute favorites.
One of the staff mentioned chef Emile is inspired by a.o. Heston Blumental and I think some of the dishes would really give Heston a run for his money.
My dinner friends chose the 'proeverij', a smaller portion of all that is on the menu, next time I will do so too :-)
