“a lot of walking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Fairly expensive but spacious and interesting. Rented a buggy/wheelchair for my father for only 1 euro. Very few traditional windmills left in Holland so lovely to see some in the museum.

“Great place for Holland heritage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

It was a thrill to visit with our young kids at this remarkable place. Here you can get a grasp on how Holland evolved over the past century or two. Like other places in Holland our children could not only watch and hear but actually experinace by touch and activities. Take the small train and enjoy the different houses representing different periods of time. Certainly A must!!!

“A history in Buildings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is the oldest open air museum in Europe and is very well presented and maintained. Many of the buildings have traditionally costumed people some of whom speak very good English and they are happy to tell you about the building and its former uses. It is similar to the open air museum at Singleton in West Sussex and it is easy to appreciate that European trades and agriculture followed similar developments across the continent. The free tram enables you to see the whole of the park and we found it very useful to take a complete circuit at the start of our visit and thus orient ourselves and make good decisions about which of the many building to spend time in.

“Old times in the Netherlands for kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Perfect place to spend a day with your kids. You have everything there you need to go back in time to enjoy old times in the Netherlands: old trams, houses and variety of activities (things you do on the farm or field).

Fully recommended especially with kids!
