We chose to stay in Arnhem to access Floriade at Venlo and I chanced upon this B&B on Trip Advisor. Staying on a houseboat seemed different and this place looked quirky. We were not disappointed.

We stayed in the so-called Honeymoon Suite - not our honeymoon but booked because it was slightly bigger than the other rooms and had it's own deck. The room was very big and had everything we needed. It might have been nice to have had a comfy chair but this is really only niggling. The decor was very different but the difference made the experience. Despite cool weather and showers we were able to sit out on the deck some of the time. There was a heater in the room but it was quite small and might make the room a bit chilly in md-winter.

The owner and his partner were extremely friendly and helpful - they really couldn't have done enough for us and there was also plenty of information in the room on nearby restarants etc. It was all very helpful and friendly. One night we bought some salad and wine and stayed in and were able to use the guests' kitchen etc upstairs. It also had an honesty bar which was handy too,

We really liked the breakfasts. These are taken in your room and you can set a time each day for them - this was great. Although our room had a laptop we asked for the wifi access instead which was arranged for our second night.

There was something quite magical about watching the sunset from a boat bring rocked occasionally as a barge or boat sailed past. Probably not the place for the less mobile with lots of steps and the upstairs rooms up a very narrow set of steps. Oh, and there's free parking right next to the B&B - very handy.

Clearlty the B&B is Ruud's passion and there seemed to be further buiilding work going on on the shore line. If you want something quirky and different, yet homely, then go for this place.

This B+B has got loads of character. I love staying in places like this (so much better than your run of the mill hotel).
The rooms are huge with loads of light, comfy beds and hot showers. This was perfect for a young couple like us, and I would definitely recommend it to like people. Ruud is a great host as well-thanks for the stay and I wish it had been for longer

Room Tip: We stayed in the green room, which we really liked. We asked to see the honey moon suite the next day (it was booked when we were there) and it is even bigger with a hanging bed!!!

This Palace is such a gem; a calming oasis right in the city centre (5 mins stroll). With a small fridge and microwave in the shared upstairs' galley, you can be as self-sufficient as you wish. Breakfast is excellent and plenty. And Ruud is the friendliest of hosts.

We stayed one night at this B&B as my husband and I work on a project in Arnhem. This B&B is nicely funished, comfy beds, laptop with internet connection and nice host, Ruud. For leisure I would definately stay there again. However for business this is not the place for me as there is no wireless internet and on most nights I still need to send out some emails. breakfast was plenty and normally served around 9 AM, but we needed to go to work early and Ruud served breakfast and 7.30 AM.

This quirky houseboat is a memorable and truly special place to stay. We loved the elaborate decor, with its amazing attention to detail and humourous touches. The upstairs rooms are spacious and well equipped, with a shared deck giving fabulous views of the river and passing boats. The location has the benefit of being close to the town and railway station, yet also capturing a feeling of open space and countryside. There are lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy in Arnhem and we found the Dutch people charming and helpful. The lovely parks and surrounding countryside are easily reached by bus, bike or on foot.
The laid back and good humoured host, Ruud, gave us a warm welcome onto his beautiful houseboat.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are ideal for 2 couples as you have the large shared deck
