The hotel is clean and elegant, large rooms with adequate bathrooms, magnificent beds. Super-good breakfast. The staff at the reception and the restaurants is always friendly and very helpful. The location is 10 mins walking from the city center and is in one of the best part of Apeldoorn: in a quiet green residential neighborhood and next to the former residence of the Royal Family.

Hotel De Keizerskroon in Apeldoorn has nice furnished rooms, beautiful surroundings (near one of Apeldoorn's main tourist attractions Paleis het Loo), but really excels in the friendliness and service of the hotel's employees. The outside of the hotel may show some signs of faded glory, but the majority of the rooms and lobby have been subject to modern rennovations which resulted in a classy hotel with a business feel to it. The staff are very welcoming and make sure you are treated as if you were royalty from the palace next door.

A very pleasant, quiet, convenient, hotel next door to the queen's palace, Het Loo. We reserved 3 rooms, 1 for the grandkids, 1 for their parents, and 1 for ourselves; we all rated it the 5 star spot on our 2 week Dutch visit. Apeldoorn was a central spot and the boys loved the adventure park and the free ranging monkey zoo. Luckily the gorillas were behind a moat. We never checked to see if they could swim. The ladies loved the palace and I enjoyed the dining room, the coffee and the desserts. Not too far away was the Utrecht railroad museum, a great spot for railroad fans, some real interactive displays. We crashed our locomotive many times despite the younger set giving tons of advice. There's lots of parking, it's free and convenient. All in all a great spot for kids, grandparents and parents. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at the Keizerskroon hotel on business many times. It's on the edge of the town of Apeldoorn, near the Het Loo royal palace and park. The area is quiet and residential, which is good if, like me, you prefer sleeping with the window open for air.

The outstanding feature of the hotel is the service; the staff often remember your name, your room number, and what facilities you asked for in your room last time. They also like to chat to guests. The remaining facilities are best described as four-star: good or very good, but not so-outstanding-you-should-drive-miles-to-experience-them. I have had to think very hard to come up with anything worthy of extra praise or extra criticism, but since this is a review, I will offer three of each:

Extra praise: The comfortable sofas in the bar area; the wide range of choice at breakfast, especially the different types of bread; the top-floor swimming pool which you will often have all to yourself.

Extra criticism: Some 1-person bedrooms have two single beds rather than one king-size bed; the "gym" consists of a few exercise machines in the corner of the swimming pool room; the restaurant and brasserie serve good food but Apeldoorn has many restaurants that do even better for a similar price;

In summary, it's a lot like Apeldoorn itself: understated, well-kept, comfortable -- you wouldn't go out of your way to see it, but once you're there, you can understand why people wouldn't want to leave.

Room Tip: The area is so quiet, it makes little difference whether you're at the front or the back of the...

This place must be ruled by a perfectionist. Everything is available. Even shower slippers, bathrobe and water in the fitness room . Rooms are very big included sitting area and bathroom with bath and shower cabin as well. Toilet separate. Breakfast excellent. A lot of art ( paintings, drawings and sculptures in the corridors. Staff helpful.
The only minus is the expensive WIFI. One hour WIFI costs 10 euro's.

Stayed here for business, room was large & a HUGE bed, but there was a distinct lack of ventilation (no aircon) and the only way to get any air was to open the door to the balcony, which let in noise from the (occasional) passing vehicle.

Good pool, although the spiral staircase was a little unsettling !

Very friendly staff, quiet (which is really rare in my experience of being out and about for business) - I probably made the most noise when I took a shower! The food was excellent (I ate both nights of my trip in the hotel as it was convenient, excellent quality and super-fast out of the kitchens! Also tried out the swimming pool and sauna to start to try and get back in trim and found both of good quality.

Room Tip: I would think all the rooms were likely to be quiet given its location, but I had the advantage of o...
