Stayed here for business, room was large & a HUGE bed, but there was a distinct lack of ventilation (no aircon) and the only way to get any air was to open the door to the balcony, which let in noise from the (occasional) passing vehicle.

Good pool, although the spiral staircase was a little unsettling !

Very friendly staff, quiet (which is really rare in my experience of being out and about for business) - I probably made the most noise when I took a shower! The food was excellent (I ate both nights of my trip in the hotel as it was convenient, excellent quality and super-fast out of the kitchens! Also tried out the swimming pool and sauna to start to try and get back in trim and found both of good quality.

Room Tip: I would think all the rooms were likely to be quiet given its location, but I had the advantage of o...

I've been in this hotel about 25 year ago, and nothing seems changed from. Luxury but a little decadent style, it very well positioned for visit Het loo Palais. Not acceptable, for the hotel category, Air conditioning absence in the room, take care if you go there in summer.
At the end of the day it’s an acceptable choice

Smashing hotel with a suburb quality of staff and a wonderful restaurant. Great swimming pool on the 4th floor. Two down points.......no free Internet and no air conditioning. The location of the hotel is excellent for the Palace het loo and for appenhul ( an ape zoo). If you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant ( which is wonderful) then the city centre is approx 1.5 km away, so taxi or walking distance. Have fun!

Room Tip: In the summer, ask for a north facing room as there is no air conditioning

Our family of 4 plus grandparents stayed here for 2 nights, mid-June. We had 3 rooms. It was pricey for us, but a wonderful taste of luxury at the end of our trip. The rooms were very large with very comfortable beds and bedding. We noticed that the beds in this hotel were longer than those in the other hotels we had stayed in over our 2 week visit to Holland.

The bathroom was very nice, with great water pressure in the shower. As others have noted the tub is high and it is slippery. I slipped once and you do need to be careful getting in and out.

The staff was excellent and always had a friendly greeting for us when we passed by. The keys are on big heavy keyrings, the idea being you drop your key off each time you leave. We found this quite handy with so many of us sharing three rooms, we never had to worry about who had the key.

All our rooms had nice sized balconies.

We appreciated the absolute quiet in the rooms. We were on the second floor.

The breakfast was delicious with a large variety. The staff was very friendly and recognized us when we returned the second day with a nice greeting. They had several types of delicious home made breads, jams and other spreads, cereal , eggs and bacon. I was thrilled to see ice water! The Dutch aren't big on ice in their drinks, so to finally be able to pour a glass of ice cold water was very appreciated. They also had at 3 or 4 different types of juice. It was excellent.

Location is great. You can walk next door to Het Loo Palace (wonderful!) and get your tickets ahead of time right at the hotel.

You are also close to a wonderful park with ziplines (Klimbos) and monkey zoo (Apenheul). The hotel has brochures on all the activities and I highly recommend both.

It was a wonderful stay and a place we hope to return to next trip to Holland!

I just returned from 3 nights at the Bilderberg Hotel in Apeldoorn and it was a special experience. I strongly recommend the hotel and will note below some pros and cons. My first recommendation is to ask for a room with a balcony. I requested a double bed and those rooms don't have balconies. This would be a great place for a holiday.
BEWARE: The rooms have no air conditioning. I was just there in late June and it was not an issue. I opened the window and it was nice and cool in the evening. But it may get warmer in July & August.

Pros:
* Big covered pool on the top floor with sauna and a big balcony that a large number of people can sit out on. Very nice!
* Hotel staff was extremely polite and very professional.
* Bike rentals - You can rent by the day or just for the evening.
* Location - Right around the corner from the Queen's former castle which is now a museum. It's massive. Great piece of history.
* Brand Beer - Centuries old Brand Beer on draught, but 5.3 Euros for a pint. Yikes!
* Birds - You'll hear loads of singing from the birds. Since I was jet lagged and didn't sleep well the first night, they start up around 4:00AM.
* Nightfall - It didn't get dark in June until about 10:00PM.
* Restaurant - Food very good but not cheap. A cheeseburger with bacon and an egg on top was just under 17 Euros. The burger was good, but not great. Pasta with chicken was excellent.

Cons:
* The toilet paper was just a touch softer than a local newspaper. I missed my Charmin.
* Soap - they give you a small tube of body soap. It's just not enough. Ask for more, especially if there are two or more in the room.
* Tub - Was nice and big but be careful stepping out. It is set 4 or 5 inches higher than the bathroom floor and doesn't have any non-slip stick ems on the floor of the tub. Hold on to the highest towel bar when stepping out. I almost fell.
* Minibar prices - 3.25 Euros for a Pepsi. Come on. But hotels are notorious for this.
* Keys - You have to lock your door when you leave the room. It doesn't lock automatically. The key chain is a massive piece of metal with the room number on it. They want to make sure you don't walk off with it, I guess. No chance of that.
* Air Conditioning - No gots

Please don't misunderstand. I liked this hotel a lot. It is a very special place with a great staff. Before it became a hotel, it was the quest quarters for the Queen's visitors. I'd love to go back.

I'm sure you'd have a pleasant stay. Happy Trails.

Room Tip: Get one with a balcony.

I stayed here for one night for a business meeting and was extremely happy with the service. Everything was well organized and we were looked after in a way you do not experience in many other places. Nothing was too much!
The facilities are good, the room was great and recently refurbished, the bathroom up to standard, great breakfast buffet and also a super lunch buffet.
Can recommend De Keizerskroon for business as well as leisure!
