Stayed here for 3 nights, have been here before a few years back and had warm memories so decided to stay again.
The room we got was a 3 bed, which was huge for just the two of us, we had booked a double/twin. The beds were comfortable and it was clean.
The bathroom was old fashioned but the shower was amazing, loads of hot water, really powerful.
However because it was on the ground floor onto the street there was quite a lot of noise from passers by, lorries in the morning, people returning to the hotel drunk etc. Also the window was massive but the curtains were very thin, so it was light all night. In retrospect I wish I had asked for a room upstairs as maybe I would have slept better.
The breakfast is basic. There were rolls one day but not the other two days, then there was just bread slices which were dry. There are cheese, eggs, meat to go with the bread. The coffee was weak. However breakfast is included in the room price.
The location is fantastic near to the centre and some restaurants. I recommend de Walrus and Spinoza further down the street. The staff were friendly and helpful
There isn't a lot of choice in Leeuwarden particularly if you don't want to pay a lot so here is a reasonable choice.

Room Tip: I would suggest try a room upstairs

My hotel stay was arranged by someone else so I don't know the prices, but the hotel is a fairly bare-bones 2 star establishment. Positives: Large room, actually huge by European standards, and a good location near the city center, we had an extra bed in our room that would have been good for a third person. Negatives: no real lobby, the hotel is essentially over a bar and there is not 24 hour presence, so beware if you plan to arrive late night/early morning. The sink was in the bedroom area with an attached soap dispenser, no soap or shampoo in the shower. Walk-up only, and fairly steep and narrow stairs. The breakfast was adequate but on a similar inexpensive level.
