“Fab venue fir a family celebration”
Reviewed September 15, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We booked Oak Tree to celebrate Dads 90th birthday. It was wonderful, gorgeous weather gorgeous views and everything we needed.
Loads of kitchen equipment but couldn't get the hang of the Aga cooker, took so long to cook large pans of food.
Sofa looked comfortable but didn't last as it was very difficult to sit up especially for the elderly. On the other hand the beds were very comfortable and loved the large dining table.
One word of warning phone signals are very difficult to get so don,t rely on phone calls to give directions to the house which is set back off the road. Picking up the keys from the pub was easier and we were kindly shown the farm from there. We displayed flags on the entrance at the roadside for others to find.
Fabulous venue for a family celebration and a great place to play hide and seek, wish we were there longer.

“Excellent stay with a large group”
Reviewed September 5, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed here for a long week-end with extended family (8 adults, 6 children and 4 toddlers!) and we all had a fantastic time in this property and the surroundings and i would highly recommend it to others.

The key positives are:
1) The property is very spacious and has a huge living/dining room as well as a separate living room. Both of these rooms have games/TV etc so very useful for a large group and if you want the group to split up
2) The quality of furnishings etc is high
3) Very picturesque setting with a large garden and nearby fields with cows and sheep who come by close every day!
4) Only 15mins from buxton if you need to do any grocery shopping
5) Lots of activities close by eg go ape/go karting / chatsworth house / alton towers
6) Kitchen was extremely well stocked with crockery and utensils

Only small issue we had was that some of the hobs in the kithchen/agha were not working properly and also the fact that you had to leave the agha on all day meant the house and even bedrooms became warm. Additionally, the table football was in a poor condition with one side nearly breaking off.

Overall i would highly recommend for a large group who wants to catch up and have children which they can keep busy in the house/garden.

We stayed here with a big group of adults and kids for a long weekend. House was perfect for the number we had and as a great location to explore the area.
House is clean and tidy and has everything you could need.
We are already looking into going back.

“Excellent stay in lovely Peak District”
Reviewed July 15, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We were a group of 12 University friends and stayed here for a week. The accommodation was very well equipped with plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The garden is spacious with great views. The house was very clean and the bedrooms a good size. The AGA stove took some getting used to and had to be left on all the time making the kitchen warm. Thankfully there are 2 bi-folding doors from the adjacent living room and a further door to the garden from the kitchen meaning that we could open these and vent some of the warm air. We liked the remoteness of the place although still in a reasonably close distance from Buxton, Bakewell etc

“Fantastic house in an amazing location”
Reviewed May 27, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Just returned from a long weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday with 18 of us ranging from 16 months to nearly 70! The house is of very high quality in terms of fixtures and fittings and has so much space you can either do tings together or have our own space. All bedrooms are a great size with lovely facilities and the living space was ideal for families. The gardens were amazing - plenty of room for the kids to play games whilst others relaxed. great service as well from the company who made sure everything was in place and were excellent at communicating with us prior to and post the stay. Definitely a place to go again!!

“Fabulous Derbyshire Retreat”
Reviewed April 14, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We have just had a fantastic family gathering in Oak Tree Farm. It was spacious enough to enable both togetherness and independence. It is large and roomy without being austere and pretentious. The garden was delightful, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The farmhouse is superbly equipped and we all loved the large Aga for making our family meals. A really sociable kitchen with an island to chill around and prep at. I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a perfect retreat for any large family / friends gathering - perfect in every way and so relaxed. The addition of a comfortable easy chair in the master bedroom would have added to the comfort for us.

Liked best: The high level of internal decor and facilities and the Aga
Liked least: The number of different steps and levels in the entrance hall - sadly one of us had a fall.
