So lucky with the weather so we spent quite a lot of the time outside - owners helped with a hose pipe when our son bought a paddling pool.
The barn is cosy as in a bit small but so well equipped and ideal for a family get together - three families two children and a baby
It is in a lovely secluded valley and we did the walk to the 3 shires head - about an hour
The drive to leek is spectacular and we went to both nearby reservoirs/ lakes
We visited Bidulph grange gardens on the way home which is well worth a visit
Would recommend this barn
We stayed with 4 couples and really enjoyed the tranquillity, beautiful views and sheep and alpaca on our doorstep. The cottage itself is very well equipped and clean & tidy. Would stay again!
Lovely place to stay in a quiet spot near Buxton. Gemma & Simon were friendly and helpful hosts. The kids enjoyed roaming around and exploring the farm with the sheep, alpacas, waterfalls and trampoline! Cottage is well done out, log burner is a nice touch. Would definitely come back!
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location with friendly hosts. Remote but with easy access to bigger centres. Great for walking, cycling and trail running and within a few miles of the roaches, or a drive to Buxton. The accom itself is really comfy and well kitted out. Although we had good weather, it would have been equally cosy on a rainy day with the wood fire going.
What a little gem - our second stay here, situated within the wonderful views of the Peak District, with paths leading off to many walkways for the hikers or ramblers. Sheep greet you every morning and what a delight to see Alpachas when starting your day. The barn is spacious enough for the 8 of us that went this year, beds large enough to sleep 4 and so comfortable. It has everything in place so no need to take a corkscrew for a “just in case”. The owner Emma was lovely, nice little touch of being us a bottle of Prosecco on our second night. Wonderful place and will definitely be back for a third time.
We had a great post-Christmas family get together at Overbrook Barn. 6 adults and 1 child (3 years old). The Barn was very warm and welcoming. Heating system very responsive and the living space warmed up very quickly. ( we have stayed in other lets in the winter where this was not the case) .
The views from the barn are stunning and we took several lovely walks across the nearby fields.
Tha farbrook alpacas were a delightful bonus - we watched them make their way down the hill every morning then visited them in their paddock as we left the house.
Gemma, Simon, Ludo and Stephen all made us very welcome and Stephen took the time to explain the basics of alpaca husbandry.
We would love to return to Overbrook in the summer but it was very beautiful in the Winter.
Lovely place, perfect for active dog lovers - well equipped, warm and cosy, just right for the four of us. A great centre for visiting this part of the Peak District. Simon and Gemma are great hosts, with an interesting enterprise in alpacas. Definitely worth another visit!
