Just returned from a week's hol in the local holiday park.
Visited this pub on two occasions, thankfully only briefly and my average score of three is being generous.
Whilst parking, an elderly couple who appeared to be staying overnight were a bit miffed as we seemed to have parked in their bay, despite the fact their names weren't etched in the concrete, and asked how long we intended to stay! Not a good start.
The pub is devoid of any welcome from the bar staff and the locals tended to look at you as if you were green and had just parked your spaceship in the car park. It reminded me of the inn in the film 'American Werewolf in London!!'
On the one occasion, having entered through the lounge entrance, several locals were standing in what was clearly their regular niche by the bar and practically refused to move to enable my wife to pass through to the restaurant area, she literally had to squeeze past them. Having noted their ignorance I found reasonable cause to push my way through! The bar staff looked as if they preferred to be elsewhere.
Unable to comment on the food as decided against having any and went instead to the neighbouring Merchant's House where the welcome was what you would expect, coupled with outstanding food and great service.
Never again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, accomodated our large group of ten at fairly short notice, lovely food from the menu although the Sunday carvery was not quite as good as our Saturday night meal. Good live music too.

Service was not good when we wanted to order food . We in the end did not order and left to a nice restaurant near by. Such a shame. We will not return back and not sure how they survive. Certainly tourist should stay clear.

Nothing but praise for this lovely pub with rooms. Food was excellent, but don’t order starters if you want to have room for pudding as the portion sizes are very generous. We needed an early breakfast on Sunday morning and the landlady could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a wet week in the pretty village of Longnor Staffs. How glad we were to be able to walk down to this roomy pub. Coal fires ( in June !!) made for a warm welcome. Our meals were all delicious, perfectly cooked and generous portions. Excellent pub grub with something for everyone on the menu. The Robinsons ales were new to us and very drinkable. Would highly recommend this Inn.We didn't book our table in advance, but in better weather it might be necessary.

Room tip: Cannot comment as we were not staying there.
