“good Best Western”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Nice hotel, probably one of the best Best Westerns' we've stayed in, nicely decorated and comfortable. Spa looked good although we didn't use it. Food was very good, although on the expensive side. Service very good, although checking out was frustrating, given there was only one person able to do that. The guy sitting in the back it seemed could only answer the phone.

Be aware although its lovely, it is in the middle of no where and you have to drive. There are no walks from the hotel and the 'stone's throw' (mentioned in their documentation) to the beach and coastal walks was a bit of an exaggeration. 2-3 miles down lanes to the nearest beach.

That said its a good base for exploring the area by car, which is simply stunning.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked good, one facing the front of the hotel would have better vews.

Stayed here for one night midweek.
On arrival we was a bit early so the receptionist asked us if we would like a refreshment and a pot of tea was brought into the lounge where we read the papers whilst waiting, which I thought was a nice touch. The receptionist then came to get us when the rom was ready

The room was of reasonable size,(twin room),tea/coffee tray with plenty of sachets and biscuits. Bathroom large with deep bath and shower with complimentary toiletries.

We used the spa and we both had a fabulous back massage, large pool was a little cold but sauna and steam room soon warmed us up. One little gripe no shampoo or conditioner just shower gel in the changing rooms.

Had dinner in the conservatory, varied choice of menu ranging from £9 to £19. Very well cooked and presented and nice wine list.

Slept well in comfy beds.Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, usual choices of cereal, fruit, yoghurt.also could choose a choice of cooked breakfasts,we had the cooked Welsh breakfast which was was fab. The kitchen used quality products and it showed.
Staff were friendly and hotel spotless throughout.
A little gem in West Wales.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feed back it was much appreciated & I have passed it onto all team members.
I have taken on board the comment on Shampoo & Shower gel in the Spa Changing rooms as we do have dispensers in the cubicles & these should have been full.

We hope to see you again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel and the breakfast was great (salmon/eggs etc). The setting is stunning - very peaceful. Nice to have the spa facility but Jacuzzi was out of action. Shame about the fire alarm going off at 7 am on a Sunday morning! A small discount for this would have been appreciated but one was not offered.

Was alerted to Lamphey Court via a Wowcher deal so booked one night during our tour of Pembrokeshire. The deal offered discounts in the adjoining spa so Moby & I each had a massage booked, she for 2.00pm, so we ordered lunch in the restaurant at 1.00pm, each of us having the same pasta dish. Despite there being only 2 other couples in the restaurant it took 35mins for us to be served and having a massage so quickly after eating is obviously not ideal. But the staff were very apologetic, offered us a discount and messaged the spa that we would be delayed.
The spa itself was a delightful experience, and our bedroom (I paid for an upgrade) was outstanding, chandeliered and at the top of a sweeping baronial staircase. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but the food, though thoughtful and well-presented all seemed to lack flavour; we had lunch, dinner and breakfast and although the menus all looked exciting the food was inexplicably somewhat tasteless. Bizarre.

Room Tip: Room 4 was gorgeous.

Once again apologies for the delay on your lunch, we have been encountering technical problems with our till system that may have affected this.
Your feed back has been passed onto the team here and greatly received.

I have also passed your comments on the food back to our chief who has taken them on board.

Lovely hotel frontage! Very impressive. We were staying with a party of international visitors who loved the venue, the beautiful countryside and even the sheep!
Pleased to find WIFI in all rooms and delivering at high speeds, only complaint was the room was a bit stuffy and I couldn't open the window, which may be my incompetence or that it was jammed shut. Who knows?
Breakfast was ok, the fruit selection is a bit limited, but the local delicacy, lava bread, cockles and bacon was superb.
On our second day it did take about half an hour to get some drinks, but the overall welcome was warm, staff lovely and the whole group enjoyed it,

We visited for 2 days over the weekend on a last minute spa package. The Hotel is very conveniently situated within a short drive to the local towns of Pembroke and Tenby and minutes from so many beautiful beaches, coves and pleasant scenery. Our room overlooking the meadows had character with most amenities apart from a refrigerator. The Restaurant staff for the Evening Dinner were excellent as was our meals but at breakfast they were very slow and I would suggest you arrive early to obtain the best choice of fruit, bread , yoghurt and juices. I was also disappointed that, at the weekend , breakfast was only served until 9.45am. One of the Receptionists offered no assistance to my wife when she enquired about the availability of a local catholic church and when requesting a local map we were given the 2012 edition of the Pembrokeshire Events magazine. These are minor points and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would certainly visit there again

Room Tip: We were in the Hotel. There were other Studio Rooms that were a short walk from the main building

Thank you for taking the time to give your feed back I am glad to see that your overall experience with us was enjoyable, however would like to apologies that you felt breakfast service times where not acceptable, I will review this going forward and also that the buffet selection was not large enough, I do hope that our hot food that is also included in the breakfast made up for this, ranging from Egg on toast, full welsh breakfast to smoked salmon & eggs Benedict.

With regards to the lack of information on the location of a Catholic Church I do apologies, but the receptionist was has recently moved to the area from Bristol. With hind sight she can see that she should have asked.

We hope that we will see you again on your return visit.
