“5 Stars is not enough!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

The ocean views, spacious and luxurious rooms, extensive breakfast and beautifully manicured landscape was topped only by Stephan's hospitality and hands on help. We were treated with sincere warmth and friendly advice on locations, shopping and restaurants in the surrounding area. One wakes up in the morning overlooking the ocean, still laying in bed or having a cuppa on the private patio treated to the same views. The bathrooms are stylish and spacious, there is ample cupboard space and the kitchen is sufficiently equipped. In the courtyard is a lovely pool and braai area which even sports a wood-burning pizza oven. All the areas are well kept, neat, clean and decorated to accentuate.
The visit was more than well worth it. If I could rate Stephan's Guest House any higher, I would!

As i was looking for an accomodation prior the transkei, i searched for accomodations in port shepstone. I wrote to some guest houses, but Stephan was the only one to come back to me immediately after writing my emails, offering a single bedroom. I found his guest house very easily, close to shops, good and cheap restaurants.
The room was very spacious, the bed amazingly comfortable and the balcony invited to sit there, enjoying the view overlooking the sea.His guest house is very clean and has great atmosphere. Many places to sit and relax, in sunshine or even in shade. Unfortunately i wasnt able to stay longer than 1 night. I`d loved to stay longer.
He is a great host, friendly and knows everything about the area. He is very helpful and it was a pleasure talking to him about. He cares about his guests, I felt like home.
Next time, i plan to stay longer there !

It was my first time visiting South Africa and Stephan made my experience more incredible. It is a home-like environment with two pools and one pond with lots of koi fish and two adorable dogs (Soccer and Havana)! I already miss them so much! If you are a golfer, it would be even better for you. Port Shepstone country club is two minutes away. I was lucky to borrow Stephan's cart :) I will definitely go back in near future! Stephan! Wait for me!!!

In the past few years i have traveled frequently locally and internationally for business. I have stayed in numerous hotels and guest houses, some were good while others were very bad although they had a good star rating. I was pleasantly surprised when i walked into Stephans guest house. It has a beautiful stylish interior and large comfortable rooms which overlook the ocean. Stephan is an excellent host and always ensure that your stay is pleasurable and comfortable. You always feel at home and relaxed. I would definitely recommend Stephans guest house whether you are on a business trip or on holiday. The guest house is ideally situated close to the beach, shopping centers and restaurants. Thanks Stephan for a most enjoyable stay and your friendliness! I can not wait for my next visit.

Stephan goes out of his way to make sure all his guests have a comfortable stay. The B&B has beautiful landscaping, large, modern rooms, and a dining area overlooking the ocean. There is reliable Wi-Fi, an excellent breakfast and it's in close proximity to restaurants and grocery stores. I have stayed here numerous times on business and am always happy to return.

Room Tip: The three rooms in the main house have the most reliable internet access.

I would recommend this B&B for a relaxing beach holiday . The hotel is set in an idealistic background with a view of the majestic Indian Ocean in front. You can actually see the ocean from your room. Stephan himself is very friendly and always around to see that all your demands are met.
You can bring your Golf clubs with you as it is just 2 minutes away from Port Shepstone Country Club.

Room Tip: Lion, Giraffe & Buffalo rooms have excellent sea view.

If you will be staying in the Port Shepstone area, this is the perfect place to stay. It is a beautiful setting, overlooking the Indian ocean. The rooms are spacious and private and the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. Stephan could not be nicer. I highly recommend this guesthouse.
