This restaurants are situated on a hill about 30 Minutes away from the main station. You can get there by tram and bus. From the restaurant you have nice view over Zürich, the lake and to the mountains.
Actually there are three restaurants: WOK Beiz & WOK Rondo (casual, outside and inside, partially view to the city) and Jahreszeiten Restaurant (more formal dining, inside and outside, good view to the city) and Kastaniengarten (casual, snacks and drinks, just open in summer). For both restaurants I would recommend to make a booking as they are popular especially on a nice summer night. The WOK and the Jahreszeiten share their starters and dessert menu. At the WOK they serve different wok menus as main course. At the Jahreszeiten they have Swiss specialty, salads, meat from the BBQ, fish and lot more.
We ate at the WOK and tried Gazpacho Andaluz (Spanish vegetable soup) and a Provençale Wok. The dinner was not the best we ever had in Zürich, but it was good. It was just a shame that it got cold even they have a plate warmer on every table. The service was attentive and the prices are not higher than in the citycenter (main course between CHF 26 and 46).
We definitively will come back as already the view is really worth a visit! If you like to go on a walk after the lunch/dinner you can walk down the hill and back to the city center following the river (Limmat). It takes about an hour (4km).
