Our businesses are sponsored by the blindekuh Foundation. blindekuh is one of the largest private-sector employers for people with impaired vision. The food is adequate but dining as the blind do is very interesting and enlightening. I was encouraged by my server who was blind.

Very memorable experience! While not inexpensive (CHF 200 for 3 people), it was worth it. As others said, the food is good but it is not reason that you go. Good family event with older children/teenagers

I suppose one doesnt' go to the Blinde Kuh because of the food - but because of the experience. It's really something not to be able to see anything (except for the darkness). The staff make sure you feel as comfortable as possible - it's all really well thought-through and prepared, and once you're seated you gradually start feeling OK.
Food itself was good: nothing special, but tasty.

Definitely recommended.

Make a reservation before your trip! This is the world's original "dark" restaurant and certainly recommended. We were given a friendly English-speaking waitress who navigated us through the dark. A mystery menu is offered or you can choose from a couple of other menus. For Switzerland, the restaurant is very moderately priced. It is an experience you should definitely do while in Zurich.

We took our family of 4 (children of 10 and 12) here during a short stay in Zurich. We are so glad that we did! The experience was incredible. We had worried that the children might find the experience of eating 'blind' a little scary - but we needed have worried. Both sat in the dark for about 2 hours (you eat slower when you can't see) and were not fazed at all after the first few moments of entering (in crocodile formation behind our blind waitress).
The food was very good - and it's worth choosing the 'surprise' menu so that you really have to guess what you are eating. We did not guess well! Smoked salmon turned out to be smoked lamb (very nice) and the dessert of poached apricots turned out to be figs! Food tasted very good - though of course I can't say what it looked like.
The restaurant was quite noisy - or seemed it since senses are heightened when you can't see - but after a while that just became 'white noise'. The service from our waitress was very good (we just had to shout her name for her to come to us).
I have to admit that eating without really worrying about table manners was rather liberating (elbows on the table, at one point giggling as we waved arms in the air). We did not spill our drinks and it's surprising how quickly you get used to finding your food and knife and fork.
Overall an amazing experience - and one which we'll never forget. The children will certainly have something to talk to their school mates about when they return to school tomorrow!
