“Great experience all round”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

very nice location and friendly staff, the food was very well presented and though the establishment is positioned as a hotel / catering school in reality it is a highly professional restaurant. Would definitely go back

“Over-rated, unoriginal and tired-looking”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

This restaurant is where trainees from the Hotel School showcase their trade. I went here 15 years ago with my wife and my rating was 4-star. This year, I went with a larger party from work and was very disappointed.

FOOD : Disappointment all-around the table. My fish portion (Sea Bass in salt crust) was tiny and had bones and not that spectacular. My starter (beef tartar) was not that special either.

SERVICE : not that friendly.

DECOR : Yes, it's a mansion, but the decor is a bit shabby and superficial.

SUMMARY : If you decide to go here, I recommend sitting outside in the garden on a nice evening in the Summer. Otherwise it's not worth it.

“Superb value gastronomy in a stylish 'mansion', a short tram ride from the centre”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

As a training facility for hotel staff it can at times feel like "everybody wants a go" given the sheer number of different people who attended to us through the course of the evening, though you will be waited on by a core trainee, despite this I found the service to be of a very good standard.

We went on a Saturday night and were seated inside one of the many linked dining rooms with huge chandeliers, mirrors and so on. The ambiance was as expected, slightly lively yet reserved, for a location of this type.

The food was excellent, with us opting for the tartar starter and then the veal main course, carved at the table, which turned out to be served as two courses much to our delight/confusion. There is a set dinner menu with the option of between 2 and 5 courses on offer though we stuck to the a la carte option. We ended with a huge choice of seemingly 'as much as you want of anything' from the enormous sweet trolley.

The overall experience is not cheap, however it represents very good value for money in terms of the total package on offer. Would definitely revisit, but more for a special occasion.

“Gastronomy boot-camp in mansion setting”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

As a training facility for the hotel school next door, the service and execution is usually by the book, but may vary a bit depending on the class. The location in the old Escher villa in Belvoirpark makes for an exceptional setting, specially on a nice summer day. Probably the best value for money among upper-end restaurants in Zurich. For more casual visits, there is an outdoor only bistro, next to the villa. Overall quite a unique experience.

“Surprising and warmly recommended”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

The Belvoirpark Restaurant is part of a school for hoteliers. Service is provided by students who perform their duties with smile, enthusiasm and craftsmanship. The cuisine is very good and the restaurant is not so expensive in comparison to its quality and vs. other restaurants in town offering similar quality. The place is located in a quite neighborhood, easily accesiible by tram. It is especially attractive in the warmer season when one can sit outdoors.
