This was our first trip to Europe, and Zurich was our first stop. We stayed 2 nights June 16 & 16. We were pleased that th hotel allowed us an early check in (about 10.00 am), as we arrived after 2 long flights from New Zealand. The only downside was that this was a smoking room (& the stairways were smoky also, however, we came to realize that this is not unusual for Europe). Fortunately, our room had windows opening out to the street, so we had fresh air coming in as well as a nice outlook. The room was small but clean and bright, with a small modern bathroom. The bedlinen were crisp white and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was good also.

The general neighbourhood was good to walk around, with plenty of small shops and food places. Although away from the city centre, the short tram rides were handy.

Overall, this hotel left us with a favourable impression, and we had a pleasant stay in Zurich.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 1 night (actually about 15 hours) on a brief layover visit of Zurich. While the hotel is a bit far out, it is easily accessible by tram 14 from the train station, or tram 9 from anywhere downtown. The room was quite small, and the shower was very tiny, but it was a clean and quiet hotel. The breakfast was good and had a large quantity to choose from. The staff was fairly helpful, and gave free internet access as well. One thing for those traveling with a disability...the entrance to the hotel is up about 6 steps from the street level. There is an elevator inside, but not to the front door. Overall a good place to stay for the price.

We stayed 3 nights and the rooms where too small and the courtain in the bathroom stock to your body because the shower was so small.
The TV was almost on the ceiling and made it very hard to watch.
On our last day they forgot to give us a wake up call but fortunately I woke up at 5am and we did not miss our flight.
When we told the front desk they didn't even apologize for not calling. Wouldn't stay there again!!

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and found it was ok and fair for the price.
Rooms were very small and the bathroom even more so. Furniture was a bit old and our bed was close to falling apart, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. Burn stains from cigarettes on the table were not nice to look at, but we were there for sleeping, not living
:-) Breakfast was included in the room price and was a buffet with no frills but also nothing to complain about.
Service at the hotel reception was very good and helpful in every way, the hotel's location right next to a tram station and bus stop couldn't be more convenient for your daily excursion in and around Zurich.
Overall a small and good hotel for the budget traveller!

We booked for 3 nights, from Oct 29th to Nov 1st, and overall are pleased with the hotel experience. At arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful receptionist (think of Virginia Madsen, but with even lighter blond hair), who warmly welcomed us, exchanged a few impressions about Switzerland and turned out to be really hospitable. Her smirk and enthusiasm were quite captivating, and for a foreigner for the first time in Zurich, it was quite a pleasant introduction to the city. Too bad we never really managed to talk with her again!
The hotel itself is nothing special: the double room and the bathroom are smaller than average (maybe that's a standard in Zurich, as all the houses we saw have a high density of windows, meaning the swiss rooms probably are tiny), and in the morning we had breakfast with no frills: just bread (croissants) with a selection of cheese and ham. However, no smokers should be warned: in Switzerland it is allowed to smoke in public places, so don't be surprised if someone lights a cigarette while you're having your tea.
As for the location, the Neufeld is located in a quiet area, that's well connected to both the railway station and the city center through trams, who pass every 5 minutes (and take you to your destination in 10 minutes). Since the hotel stands right in front of a plaza, from your window you may see a bit of Zurich life, like students running after their tram, or trams going up and down the hills, on which the streets are laid.
