“Great atmosphere and private patio on roof”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This hotel offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere -- efficient and brightly colored rooms and a friendly staff. Top floor rooms open to private terrace on the roof, offering a neighborhood view. Trendy restaurants are a short walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor

We loved the 25hours Hotel. It's warm, friendly, beautifully designed and very comfortable. Great design hits you at every turn upon entering the hotel and finding a ping pong table and hot pink rug surrounded by bikes you can rent, then entering the lobby with fun, unique architecture, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, two hip lounge areas for hanging out and a welcoming reception desk. The rooms are spacious, clean, hip and high quality with well designed bathrooms with a window that peeks through to the bedroom with a mirror over part of it.

Pros: beautiful, well-designed, boutique hotel, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great bathrooms, work area with desk, free WIFI, in room safe.

The hotel is located one stop from the main train station, where you can walk ten minutes or take a 4 tram near the main train station to the hotel. The area is full of corporate buildings housing companies like eBay! and a little industrial which we loved. If you walk toward the train station, the area gets a little more residential with restaurants and shops mostly on the opposite side of the tram. We took a nice walk along the river one morning and it was full of interesting finds. Great reasonably priced hotel to explore Zurich from. We also visited Art Basel which was only a one hour train ride away and a much more economical choice than staying in Basel during the fair.

Breakfast is pricey at 20 Euros per person but they provide free coffee, croissants and fruit near reception. The fitness room is limited and is part of the spa access package for 15 Euro per day.

This hotel is great and absolutely worth the extra travel as it is somewhat outside the main centre. Having stayed in a variety of places across Switzerland and in Zurich itself, this place is by far the best - both in terms of overall experience and price.

The hotel is well designed with lovely attention to detail and nice quirky touches ( which I won't spoil by listing here). The staff are incredibly attentive without being intruding & the price was very good given that Zurich is a very expensive city.

Highly recommend and will be staying at sister hotels in other countries having experienced this one

We stayed one night as we were on our way out of Zurich. I found the hotel to be delightfullly whimsical and the staff very helpful. The whole room decor was a delight as so different from typical hotels. Very young thinking and feel. I'd stay at a 25 hours Hotel anytime.

On the assumption that the prime purpose of any hotel is to get a good nights sleep - this hotel deserves a 1/5 rating ..... window blinds respond to wind above 30kph - effectively waking you up every few minutes - going up / going down / opening, flooding the room with light / closing ..... the curtains do not block out the light either.

This is a real shame - as apart from getting no sleep - the hotel is modern, funky and trendy - making you smile with decor, fun door handle announcements etc ..... The owners really need to speak to the Architect/Building owners - as the blind situation is totally unacceptable ....

Could not fault the staff, welcome, etc ..... just runied by mechanical blinds ...... and poor planning by the builder/architect etc ....

Room Tip: If you have booked this hotel - do not lower the blinds - use eye shields!!!!

Very cool hotel and very friendly stuff.
Clean, confortable and a very good option. Good shower, good bed, almost all was very good :)

Only problems was the pillows that was not confortable for me (was so soft, I prefer something more consistent), and the curtains that does not completely remove the out light and therefore can not leave the room completely dark.

I loved 25hours and was truly sad to leave. The room I booked was the least expensive one, but there was more than enough space and storage areas for a couple of people to be comfortable. They even give you a bag to take with you during the day! The bed was the most comfortable one in my entire trip across Europe, I really got sleep there. What I think I liked best was the funky design concept of the hotel - little things like using old bicycles as decoration or the 70's style chairs and colors made 25hours a little more memorable and fun than your average hotel. The restaurant/lounge actually seems like a popular hang-out spot, and the fresh-out-of-the-oven croissants in the morning were amazing. The staff was really nice, too. The main sacrifice is the location but it was not that bad - a 10-minute tram ride from out front took me to the Zurich HBF and just a few minutes more into the old town. The area around the hotel is more of a quiet office park with nothing of interest around, while the heart of Zurich West (an up and coming area) is a couple of stops away. I tend to go for more centrally located hotels, but taking the tram back and forth was fast and I got to stay in a much nicer hotel than I would have in the Old Town for less money. It only took a 10-minute walk to Hardbrucke station for a direct, 10-minute train ride to Zurich Airport, so do not let the location put you off. This is a great hotel.

Room Tip: I had a room on a higher-floor facing the courtyard. If noise bothers you, ask for a higher room bec...
