I have been missing the English pubs since I moved from London to Zurich last year, but with my discovery of the Fork and Bottle this week, I have finally found a place to enjoy good ales and delicious pub food. The Fork and Bottle is a bit off the beaten track, but it is close to a train station (Zurich Brunau) and bus stops. If you are looking for a wide selection of interesting beers, this is the place to visit.

Eating and drinking in the back garden has an English country pub feel as it is located right on the edge of ta Wald and the Allmend / Brunau playing fields.

I am looking forward to my next visit very soon!

Fork and Bottle is a great restaurant with great food, a great wine and beer selection, and a great atmosphere! We've not made it in for brunch yet, but are so happy to have a place to go on a Sunday afternoon to grab dinner (not many casual places open on Sundays!) The weekly lunch specials are amazing. Fork and Bottle never disappoints!

I visited the Fork and Bottle on a Thursday evening in late July. I had read about the great selection of Swiss and Italian craft beers, and the selection was outstanding. The owner is very friendly and eager to discuss the beers and his restaurant with anyone. The setting of the restaurant and beer garden is beautiful. I highly recommend a visit here for anyone interested in some excellent food paired with great craft beers.

I was excited to hear that there was a new venue in Zurich for craft beer, which is sorely lacking in Switzerland, and I was not disappointed. The beer card consists of a well-rounded selection of around 10 varieties, with something to please every palate. The beer garden is an oasis in the city, the atmosphere friendly and inviting. It appeals equally to the locals who live nearby and the international crowd who work in the area.

But here's where Fork and Bottle may surprise you: their constantly evolving food selection is inventive, eclectic, and delicious! One day they may be featuring a curry-based dish, and the next you will have a juicy burger, with homemade bun, straight off the grill. The spinach and artichoke dip is to die for, as are the crab cakes! The proprietor has made a name for himself as one of the most creative and adventurous chefs in Zurich, and he continues to forge new ground with this restaurant.

As other reviewers have noted, service was friendly but somewhat disorganized. This is to be expected with any new establishment, especially one that is unique and independent, not a clone of the slick corporate places (yawn) that we are accustomed to in Zurich.

To sum up: if you are looking for a casual place to have a pint or two after work, or a family friendly place to take the kids on the weekend after a hike or bike in the nearby woods, or just something new and interesting to try out, it's worth the trip to Fork and Bottle.

Since the first visit, I've returned many a time. I'm a big fan of the burgers; so big, tasty, and excellent meat. With over 20 Artisanal Beers to choose from, it makes every visit an adventure. It's also a fantastic place for business meets, meetups, birthdays, etc, as there is a nice big lounge upstairs, as well as the big beer garden.
Tip: Ask for the beer menu ;)
