If you are in Zurich and want a complete Swiss dinner experience, this is the place. It was the best meal ever had in town. The restaurant is owned by the same family since 1949 and as soon as you step in you will be transported to a cabin in the Alps. Low ceiling, all wooden walls, decoration thought into the details, traditional Swiss furniture, including an Swiss oven where the front is used in the kitchen and the back to heat the restaurant (very Swiss). The restaurant is in a quiet residential area outside downtown Zurich. The food was fantastic: the veal cordon bleu was the best I had and the wine list - though short - was very good. The owner - Rosmarie - is very kind and gentle and after she knew this was the first time in the place, she made us a fantastic surprise of offering a set of Swiss desserts that were perfect. In the end, we had a shot of a strong liqueur - offered by Rosmarie - made of a strange Swiss fruit that appears for a few weeks every year. In sum, perfect. The restaurant also has an outside area for warmer days. Will certainly come back.

Awesome little place, a real gem in zurich. Very cute, as if you go back in time a bit. The bouillon (broth) is a must, they serve it in a big silver bowl on your table with little noodles and croutons to float inside, tastes absolutely delicious, exactly as it is supposed to. The rösti is cooked to perfection, as well as the veal, and they serve you a second portion from your own little pans. Super attentive staff and delicious wine, this place is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

This was a recommendation from a friend whom we were meeting for dinner. The place is cute, small and cosy. A warm atmosphere. Definitely one I would think about in winter. (I heard there have an outdoor garden, maybe a good try for spring too.)
The entrees were delicious. My partner had the nüsslisalat as did everyone else. Mine was the bouillon which was SO tasty and came in a generous portion, enough for me to have 2 servings plus share it. Surprisingly nice presentation too (presented in a silver soup bowl).
Our party of 4 had the veal in cream sauce together with rösti and it left everyone happy and sufficiently fed for a long while.
Tasty food, good wine. The only hiccup was the unpleasant creme brülee, which wasn't a creme brülee.
Bill reached Zurich style prices. :)
A place to remember for cold winter nights.

Great restaurant, with typical food in a typical decor.
You have to take the veal Zurich style with rösti (can't remember the name in Swiss german), it's to die for!!!
Don't forget to book before you go, the restaurant is small.

You will fall in love the moment you walk into the nearly microscopically sized room. Wood walls give the feeling of a chalet. The Roeschti are not to be missed, nor is the veal with cream sauce. And the portions are enormous. A wonderful Zurich experience.
