Arrived at Zurich (HB) by train from Basel (SBB) ,(via Baden lovely Swiss town/ our in between stop) , we took tram NO. 4 (direction Tiefenbrunnen) to Helmhaus (stop for the hotel & also the name of the hotel) from Bahnhofquai/HB (outside the train station see photos). We got off at the 4th stop (next to the small church by the river) for the hotel and it took about 4-7 minutes. To get to the hotel, we crossed the road and walked past Pieter Hugo furniture shop which took about 2 minutes. You can check the timetable using the Swiss official public transports site http://www.sbb.ch .
We arrived early and our room were not available so they offered to store our luggage for us and they locked them in a room before we went out for sightseeing. The hotel gave us a city map and great tips for our visit to the city. With our crazy schedule, catching an early train to St Moritz and change train at Chur to catch the Bernina Express Dep around 9:30 from Chur, they were accommodating - provided us with breakfast at 6:15 A.M.! Much appreciated.
The room we stayed were at the high floor with views to the river and bridge which was lovely and comfortable. It was a bit noisy on a Sat night with the windows open. Beside that we really enjoyed our stay.More
