Good quality sausages, free bread to go with. Friendly chef but unkind waiter, did not ask for his name. I mistakenly took a Salad bowl from the fridge, thought I had to grab and pay at the cashier. The waiter was so rude, he told me to put it back even I was so ready to pay so I did put it back and left the restaurant.

Good quality price ratio for this “grill” located not far from the city center. The building itself is very nice and has LOTS of space inside (and some tables outside as well). They serve very good Bratwurst with an amazing “Kartoffelnsalad” (potatoes salad). Their mustard is the SPICIEST I’ve ever tried, though very good and tasty. Two Bratwurst with bread, two salads and two ice tea for 36 CHF in Zurich is definitely cheap, so I would totally recommend this place.

Our hotel suggested lunch at this iconic Swiss takeaway and it didn’t disappoint. It was really delicious and a great taste of true Swiss food. We went around 2 pm so there was no line but when we walked passed at 5:30 pm the line went down the block.

Sternen Grill is, indeed, an iconic eatery in Zurich, and has been since we started out in 1963. And, yes, we are popular, so there are times when the lines for our perfectly grilled sausages and spicy mustard can get long.
But our friendly and extremely efficient professional staff will make sure you never have to wait too long. The Grill on Bellevue also has a restaurant upstairs so you can relax and order at your leisure. Downstairs is the Take Away (there is also a Take Away at Oerlikon and at Zurich Airport) where you order and can hang-out on the terrace.

Upstairs at Sternen Grill, late on a Friday evening, is a welcome dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy, there are tables available, the staff is very welcoming and the service very good.

Downstairs it is just stand in line and find a table. Upstairs basically the same menu but with table service. I come here every time I am in Zurich. Lots of locals as well.
