“Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

This garden is small, but beautiful. It is worth the CHF 4 entrance. Many may say this is just a garden, but I disagree, maybe because we visited it in a sunny and warm afternoon where all the garden's colors explode in your face. It is so peaceful that makes you sit down and just say there with your thoughts...

“Delightfully landscaped”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

A colourful Chinese garden that offers the visitor many very beautiful viewpoints. The garden, a gift from twin city Kunming in Yunnan Province, is conveniently located next to the Heidi Weber Art Museum by Le Corbusier. It is well maintained by Zurich city and the modest entrance fee is fully justified. The buildings, paintings, carvings and plants are full of symbolism. A splendid contrast to Swiss culture.

It is a wonderful peaceful place almost in the city center. I found it really unexpected, so it was amazing. You can feel a small peace of culture of china.

“A unique, interesting visit”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We visited it on the last day of our stay in Zurich. Once inside, it seems like another place, another world. The place beautifully showcases China and attempts to present its culture to the people. The effect of the red and golden colors is mesmerizing. It is picture perfect.

“Peaceful gardens and courteous staff”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

This attraction is located at the Zurichhorn area on the western (gold coast) side of Zurich lake and just north of Bahnhof Tiefbrunnen. Access with public transport on Tram lines #2 and #4, bus lines #33,#912 and #916 then walking a couple of blocks.

Hours of operation of the gardens are daily from 11-19 through the end of October. Entry fee is CHF4 for adults. The gentleman that was staffing the entrance area was very friendly, spoke excellent English and offered a brochure of the grounds written in German, English, and Chinese. This garden was a gift in 1993 from a Chinese sister city in respect to their cultural exchange partnership.

Firstly, I would like to say that this exhibit is very small and at times you can hear the traffic whizz by from the adjacent road, but it still has a lot of tranquility and solace in the enclosed gardens. Otherwise, the grounds are excellently groomed and the architecture is well preserved. There is the pond full of koi and lots of areas on the grounds where you can stop and unwind and enjoy the atmosphere.

At the far end of the gardens and on premises is a Chinese restaurant, which you can also order from there take-away window outside the gardens. There are also restrooms on premises. This attraction can easily be viewed in less than one hour, but it’s all about relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere here, so no need to rush just slow down and take it all in! Recommended visit.
