So my boyfriend hates being dragged to spa's... but he did not complain here!

I loved this place soooo much! the roof top pool was more than enough to keep the bf happy & the view was fantastic. All of Zurich, the lake and into the mountains!

The treatments were very good, although a little pricey (but then Zurich itself is expensive) and the girl I booked with gave me one of the best shiatsu massages I have ever had! and the roman bath bit was lovely.

The whole building is very old and looks interesting, and rarely for a spa the food was pretty good too!

Well worth a visit, especially given how close it is to the main shopping district....day shopping & then relax in the spa... even he couldn't argue with that!

I came with a friend on a Sunday afternoon and loved every minute.
The ritual was amazing, we were luck it was not crowded and we could enjoy the afternoon there.
Apart the ritual, the roof top pool and the music pool are quite an experience too. I would definetely recommend it.

The spa is very near a train station, so easy to get there. Place is very clean. Decor is beautiful. Pools are wonderful. Specially the rooftop pool, you can see the whole city of Zurich.
Fee is reasonable. There are 2 canteens where you can have a light meal.
We visited on a Wednesday, so not very crowded.
However, wardrobes are very crowded with only few showers and changing rooms. Staff speak English but signs are all in German.

Admittedly, we did the mistake of going on a cold Sunday. At least, we thought, we have made reservations for a nice ritual with massages. Well I've been to other spas on cold Sundays, and this was much worse, which has only little to do with the crowds.
First off, the layout is not functional. One walks into the wardrobes, still waring coat and shoes, and sees people in towels. As there were mostly women, my boyfriend felt even more confused. Then we realized we need to walk through those bare-footed people, and try to find an empty locker. There were only lockers available in another room, which we could only access after walking (again, fully clothed and with our shoes still on) through some showers! Then, we left our staff in the locker, but there was not space to change at the same time, which means one needs to keep some of the things, go into the men/women wardrobe, find some space to change (so crowded...), then walk back to the locker, and store the rest.
The spa itself is beautiful, very impressive architecture. But loud, due to the vaults, and the youngsters and children.
The massages were great, but as the ritual programme we took includes 25' treatments, you barely get to relax before you need to dress up again. Also, we had trouble understanding where we were supposed to wait... Not least, the long breaks between treatments force you to dress, undress, enter the pool, leave the pool, and eventually one is more focused on how to go where, rather than relaxed.
Finally, when going back to the wardrobes (thanks to the ritual we didn't need to shower, which was good because there was a long line for the 4 showers...), dirt was awaiting. Due to the confusion of whether and when to remove one's shoes, barefoot people need to walk over dirt from others' shoes. Plus, many women were fighting over few hairdryers.
Oh, and funnily enough, I was told off by an employee, when I was trying to find the way out, because I had my shoes on. Well, put some signs, and/or tell us to have slippers with us, or else our socks get wet!!!
If you want to go, make reservations, and do NOT go on a weekend... They should really organize better.

The entire setting is not that bad, the rooftop pool with its view of Zurich nice - BUT:

- wardrobes make you already feel very uncomfortable due to a layout you just wish you could talk to the architect and tell him how to design it
- you enter the Irish Romain Spa and look for a shower prior to the Circuit. No way, you have to go back to the thermal baths and take the shower there.
- first thing you do at Irish Romain Circuit is asking two French speaking chatterboxes to talk, if at all, in a low voice - as mentioned in the Spa Roules
- second thing you see is a woman topless wearing a string tanga, and unfortunately not the beachwear tanga, no it was the underwear version.

After that you may continue with your "body mind soul relaxation" as they mention in the Spa Roules or you seek for a responsible employee like we did. Our inner voice told us that it would go on like that and we wanted to leave and get at least some of the CHF 55 each back.

They convinced us to give the baths a second chance and promised to go for more frequent inspection rounds, so we returned to the thermal baths and then continued to the rooftop. The elevator's plastic floor is not what you want to touch barefoot, so we were happy to have our Havaianas with us.

Back to the Irish Romain Circuit the simply non-existing on-the-spot checks ruined our stay there. Baths full with chatterboxes, that's all we say. The staff is not there, so they don't care.

Before leaving this place we had a second talk to the employee and it was interesting to hear it was a quiet week. So imagine this chatterbox place when busy.

All in all this is not a spa place you expect in a town like Zurich or a city around the world - it is very provincial, from staff to chatterboxes, from lack of showers to the animal transport called elevator.
