“small but clean and centrally located”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

The hotel is a nice little hotel in the Old Town, easy to get to by foot from the train station (10-15 min walk). And if you are lugging around luggage it's a snap, no hills. The room I got was tiny! But clean and had a shower in the room, the bathroom is down the hall. If you don't mind something like this then it shouldn't be an issue. The only draw-back was on my first night (a Monday), there was a band or performer playing until after midnight and made it a little bit of a hard sleep. But otherwise it was quiet the other nights. The other thing is there was no air-conditioning....it wasn't a huge deal but it would've been nice to have some air movement. This hotel was a good choice and I would recommend it.

Stayed here for one night and was impressed by the location. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and I had a lovely view of the street. My only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning - particularly since temp was in the 30s when I was there.
Staff were very friendly.

.. False advertising. The photos on the website are deceptive. The room we booked and the room we were allocated were completely differnent. Some rooms don't even have a bathroom and guests have to share bathrooms/showers. Horrible Hotel and horrible service. When we complained about the room we were told that if we have a problem we should check out of the hotel and stay some where else. Also our rate was prepaid therefor we would have had to forgo the prepaid amount for the entire stay if we checked out and found another place to stay.

A delightful hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, and the location is perfect. The main lobby / bar gets very lively at night, but does not at all interfere with the peacefulness of the hotel. Our stay was 4 nights, and every night was a pleasure. The room was clean and nicely laid out. It was also rather spacious for Zurich. The breakfasts were definitely worth experiencing. A small and simple buffet, but the space is extremely trendy. Overall a wonderful experience!

We chose this place because it was in the centre of Zurich and close the train station. Surrounding the hotel is a series of bars and restaurants, it's a bit of a night life area for Zurich we gathered. There are several strip clubs in the area around the hotel and it's not really a family friendly neighbourhood. It's also very, very noisy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, which it was. But for some reason the corridor was always filled with a smell of smoke. We weren't sure if it was someone in the other rooms smoking, which would make the floor not non-smoking, but only the room. It could have been smoke seeping in from the smoking room in the bar downstairs. This is a room in the middle of the building that is ventilated only by exhaust fans and air con, so it could come straight up into the rooms above.

Apart from the above, the room and hotel itself were pretty good. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless we were looking for a night of drinking and partying.

We were staying here for just one night, so booked the shared toilet option as it was cheaper. I didn't hold out much hope for it, as to me a shared toilet usually means a hostel. We were, however, pleasantly surprised

It was a really easy walk from the station, in a perfect central location. We had a double room on the top floor. For whatever reason our room has a toilet in the en suite, so that was a huge bonus! The rooms were fine, airy and spacious with a decent tv and free wifi. It's not luxurious, and the bed wasn't the greatest, but for the price I couldn't argue

Each floor has around five rooms, so the shared toilet is actually ok.

The staff were attentive, if a little slow, but it's a laid back kind of place.

The bar downstairs is good, although at night it gets loud into the early hours, which might disturb people on the lower floors

Breakfast was brilliant, a decent mix of cold Swiss treats, including hard boiled eggs with brightly painted shells, which was a bit confusing but fun all the same

I wouldn't stay here for more than a night or so, but it a short break is all you're after, you can't go wrong here. Good rooms, great location, plenty of breakfast. What's not to like?

I love this hotel. It is located one block from the river, in the heart of old town Zurich, on a cobblestone street that allows foot traffic only. It is surrounded by small shops, restaurants, and art galleries. If you are a walker, you will enjoy this great neighborhood.
The hotel its self is charming, and clean. I I travel alone, so it is important for me to find a place to stay where I feel safe and welcome. There is a small bar downstairs, with outdoor seating when the is warm. Very nice for meeting people and also people watching.
The staff is especially why I return. They are professional and helpful. Also genuine and very easy to converse with.
I include a few pics taken during my stay in Dec. One view of the hotel and one view taken from my balcony on the second floor.
