I love arts, especially modern and contemporary. Nevet thought, that i will find some of my facourits in Zurich: Munch, Picasso, Dali, Monet just to mention some of them. I’ve visites with Zurich card and the price was muvh lower than the regular ticket. Don’t miss this museum if you visit Zurich.

This amazing art museum has a wealth of superb paintings, sculptures and other delights totalling over 4,000 items, so allow enough time to savour the treasures.

If this is your first visit, I would suggest you first decide what you absolutely have to see. Are the impressionists your favourite, or do you prefer modern, is Pop Art more your style? Or, if you are unfamiliar with Swiss artists, the Kunsthaus has the most comprehensive collection imaginable and would be a perfect introduction.

In addition to the main collection there is also usually a specially curated exhibit for which you will need an additional ticket. Both tickets need to be purchased as you enter the museum. When I visited there were two exhibitions one about the moon and the second showing the work of Guillaume Bruere, but neither appealed to me.

After walking around this spacious museum for a couple of hours you may want to enjoy a quiet tea in the small cafe in the reception area. Or, maybe in the small garden adjoining it, there you will find one of Jean Tinguely’s remarkable kinetic sculptures

Lastly, there is a well stocked gift shop where you will find beautiful art books, or perhaps the more practical choice; postcards of your favourite paintings to remind you of this memorable museum.

Various collections, different creators, varied styles. The perfect conditions for sightseeing and contemplation. The convenient location in the city centre, but in the peaceful area. Very strong representation of XIX century European painting.

No words to describe this art museum. The amount of significant pieces of art is really good as well as the surroundings. The building really respects the art itself and therefore the paintings and the statues are able to show their full potential.
