“Perfect venue for opera fans!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Another beautiful European opera house, have visited this venue a number of times over the years and it never fails to make the evening special. The operas are often staged in a modern style which gives a new twist to favourite stories. Don't miss The Nutcracker at Christmas if you have the chance - the performances I've seeen are truly magical, especially if it's snowing outside!

“Again an exiting Opera”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Jenufa. An opera from Janacek. The production is amazing. They put the three stages on each other and making it look like a three or four story house. The first act is a bit frivoulus and I thought to be reminded of eastern european culture: fun, emotional, loud. The next sceens have slightly changed this impression. Pls read the play on wikipedia. The music and the singing was just beautiful... Amazing. There was no outstanding melody or famous track, but very very nice. High priced, but worth too hear and see it if you can afford it.

“Worth being on your list”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

For opera lovers, we found the productions in the Opernhaus a surprising treat. The music director is currently Fabio Luisi, also now at the Metropolitan Opera, and he does conduct some of the productions at the Opernhaus as well (including the Jenufa we saw). We also saw Salome, and both were excellent productions, with high quality singing (and acting). The house itself appears to be pretty much as originally constructed for the audience, but the stage area has clearly been significantly modified so that the entire stage can be raised and lowered significantly, offering substantial additional options for the stage designers for an opera, Well worth considering if you are an opera buff!

“It's the Opera!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

It is very fine. Anything is high end here.
The professionalism of the services is unbelievable sophisticated and friendly at the same time.
The building is beautiful, but small! I would compare it with the Opera of Madrid, not with Vienna.
The construction is almost finished by now, and there is a very-very-too expensive parking in the underground.
The opera itself is a pleasure and it is as pleasant as any other during the piece.
The surprise is: People don't dress as sophisticated as one could imagine, so smoking and dress is not really applicable, but smart and business it's more the approach.

This Opera House is very impressive. Beautiful on the inside and out. It is not large, but very ornate.
