“Zurich's shopping area”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

We strolled down Bahnhofstrasse, passing elegant stores and fashion boutiques, as we walked from the main rail station and the Lake. We took a luncheon cruise (you don't have to dine) on Lake Zurich and had lovely lake views for our visit with friends.

“It was OK”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

I guess if you are into shopping this would be great. I didn't think the street was especially beautiful like Rodeo Drive in BH or some of the pretty shopping streets in Paris or even Berlin. But it was a direct route from my hotel near the train station to the lake so I took it.

“Zurich Bahnhofstrasse is more than just shopping...”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse is a 10-minute train ride from Zurich airport & just across the street from Zurich's main train station. There are rows of shops along the street, from the very pricey as well as the less expensive ones, depending on what you're looking for. Since oftentimes, Bahnhofstrasse is less busy than most metropolitan shopping districts, it offers Zurich's visitors an opportunity to enjoy a stroll and marvel on other aspects of interests besides shopping - from an architectural point of view, historical squares, churches & other landmarks, to works of art. There also is a variety of restaurants offering local & international cuisine as well as take-away foodstands. At the end of the 1,4 km. stretch, one finds a lovely view of Lake Zurich a pleasant invitation for a promenade free of charge, with the Opera House on one side and the historic luxury Hotel Baur Au Lac on the other. But for visitors whose main interest is shopping, I think Zurich shops can certainly offer good value for money especially during summer sales from late June through July and winter sales in January each year.
