“An excellent walking excursion”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Agree with all the reviews stating this is a lovely walking excursion running North-South along the Limmat river. The stroll includes couture high-end designer boutiques, famous Swiss banks that house much of the world's wealth, and Sprungli, the famous Swiss confectionary shop. I was there before the Christmas decorations were in full effect but saw the beginnings of a beautiful nighttime twinkle of holiday spirit.

“Christmas lights magical”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Even if the shop prices are too steep, walk the Bahnhofstrasse at night before Christmas. The lights are suspended over the avenue and appear as twinkling stars. Window shopping can be enjoyed by all.

“A shoppers paradise!!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

I can't wait to go back, hopefully for some Christmas shopping when the streets and town are decorated for the Holidays! Lots of amazing shops, both high-end and eclectic "artsy" type unique shops. Something for every shopper!! A perfect little town, amazingly easy airport and train station for travel, and great restaurants.

“They say its 1 of the most expensive shopping street in EU”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

I agree. Nice for window shopping. Good link from train station to Lake. Many restaurants, fast food, etc. Would linger around for longer than I need to though... for obvious reasons... ^_^

“High end but nothing special.”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

If you are into window shopping for watches or fashion, maybe. But with the Franc at current levels I can't believe anyone who can afford these prices can't also afford to travel almost anywhere else where prices are lower. Some institutions, notably Sprungli, worth a visit but otherwise not unlike high end shopping street in any major city. Also not a true pedestrian street as trams pass through frequently.
