I recently stayed at the Rigihof Leonardo in early August for 3 nights. I had a great room with a nice little balcony/table/chairs that was much enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. Nice bathroom, great water pressure to the shower, nice toiletries and immaculate.
The room does not have AC and may get warm on hot summer days, but I found the fan sufficient for keeping the room cool. The shades do an amazing job of blocking the light when closed. The window can be vented for good cross ventilation. The balcony is small but was much enjoyed...request a superior room at the back of the hotel, a small upgrade & quieter and I believe most of those rooms have a balcony. A good choice for the spring through fall months.
The room has a well stocked mini-bar with beer, water, soda, wine etc. and comes in handy for storing cheese etc. that can be purchased at the COOP right doen the street and eaten on your balcony!
There is a buisness center with wi-fi accessibility, not sure as to charge...my brother used it and was happy with cost and performance.. Access to internet for small amounts of time at no charge in hotel lobby.
The hotel is on tram line 10 which stops perhaps 100 yards or less from the Rigihof. Very handy, goes directly to the Haufbahn Zurich train station. From there you can walk easily around the Old Town and down the Bahnhofstrausse for shopping, or, get trams anywhere in the city. I highly recommend getting a tram card for comprehensive tram travel while staying in Zurich if you are there for several days, about 8 chf per day and well worth it. These can be purchased at the train station. It is very easy to get around Zurich on the trams, a wonderful and very user friendly system and like everything seems to be in Switzerland clean & efficient!
My room included breakfast which was very comprehensive and good. Cold meats, cheeses and breads, wonderful fresh fruits etc. and excellent coffee. Hot cooked to order items require an additional charge. There are hard boiled eggs on the buffet if you want eggs but don't want to pay for cooked to order.
Room price paid was about 215 and included breakfast, this is a good value in Zurich. Hotel staff was very friendly and very efficient. It is located slightly away from the center of town, but one can be in the old town area in less than 10 minutes...closer to 5 in actuality. Trams are frequent!. The back of the hotel was quite quiet and all in all the stay was very much enjoyed, and I would definitely stay here again for the service and value in Zurich.
As an aside, there is a restaurant/pub with outdoor seating next door that is a great place to either dine or enjoy a beverage. Great service food and reasonable. Wonderful flat bread style pizzas, quiche, rosti, sausages, and the pommes frites were fabulous. House green salad excellent. They have English printed menus if you ask. Beer, Prosecco, mixed drinks as well. Everything I saw served or was served was excellent. Much happiness by a group inside enjoying very large mugs of beer! Great little spot and right next door to the Rigihof.
Great little hotel and a great value. Much enjoyed the stay.
