I've only been here for drinks, but it's quite a nice bar to hang out in during the evenings. Elegant, brightly lit, quiet enough to actually have a conversation. It can get crowded sometimes, but I've always managed to get a seat at some point in the night. Seems to be a popular place for English-speaking expats.

We enjoyed a round of cocktails outside during a sunny afternoon before going to the movies. My partner had a cosmopolitan and I had a frozen passion fruit daiquiri. Both drinks were excellent. The venue is quite fancy without being too zen-ibiza type. Nice views of the square outside the opera house. We did not get a chance to try the food but based on the experience with the drinks I suspect that the food is good too.

Enjoy!

My husband and I shared the mixed hot/cold platter for 2....It was the most impressive visual delight and taste adventure! The service was professional and discrete. The Brasserie is sophisticated with tall windows facing the Opera and the lake and sunset beyond. Pricey, but you get what you pay for....

It's the right place just before or right after Opera. The service is very good and the same for the food which is sophisticated, tasty and nicely presented. The problem we had was the bill which exceeded the usual high Swiss standards.

Had dinner at the Restaurant Schiller (right next to the Goethe Bar; they are connected). Took the 'Dinner Special' for CHF 69.- that allows you to chose a starter, main course & dessert from the standard menu (and, therefore, turns out to be a very good deal price-wise !). Service was polite, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was quiet and allowed for private conversations. To be recommended.
