We spent 2 nights in Zurich and dined here both nights. We brought tour friends with us the 2nd night and they, like us were very happy to have dined here. The food is great and very well done.
We ate the same dishes in Lucerne and paid double the price for 1/2 the flavor and 1/2 the service. We had different wait staff both visits and found them warm and delightful. Even though we speak only English - we had no problems ordering.
I see others have said the service was poor - I think 'poor' here = not like the USA.
You are not rushed and you are not given the check before you are done nor are you constantly being asked what else you want to order. This is typical European service and they do a great job.
Dinner for 2 with a beer was less than 60chf. We spoke to at least 6 other folks from our tour who all said they thought the food here was better than the places they had gone and the price was amazingly low for the quality.

I cannot say the service was so poor as others have reported. The food was okay, the service a little stretched given the number of diners but generally it was okay, albeit nothing special. Considering we spent €150,even at Zurich prices, we were a little disappointed.

I can't express how horrendous the experience of eating at this restaurant was. After walking around with a large group of 8 for a while we decided to eat here. The worst mistake on our Europe trip so far. To say that the service from the halfwit waiter was horrendous is being far to kind. His list of indiscretions include yelling at us to order drinks, taking half of our tables drinks before running off, pretty much demanded we order food and then rolling his eyes and storming off when we asked for the bill. This service was only slightly better than the food. The schnitzel was like trying to eat an entire newspaper in 1 bite, dry and tasteless. The chips were ok but you find better at McDonalds. The cheese platter was by far the worst. 4 slices of cheese that I could have made better by leaving milk in the sun for a couple of months. The only thing positive about the place was the beer was cold. Avoid at all costs if there was a choice between experiencing this place again and loosing an eye it would be a tough choice.

Went there with friends on Friday night, it was super busy. We wait for the food very long time. Seems like the restaurant got not enough servers. The food is typical German type, sausages, pork thigh, saur cabbage, escalope and so on. They have nice beer too. So overall if you want to have a german style kind of food in town of Zurich, you can try it here. But be careful if you go on Friday or weekend, it might be full and could end up with long wait in service.

A good choice in Old Town for Swiss fare. The schweinsbratwurst & roesti was well prepared. The mixed green salad was enjoyable too. Service was pleasant and unhurried. The restaurant had a good selection of beer. Total cost of dinner with 3 medium beers was under 75 CHF.
