We booked a table for Monday night's all you can eat wings. At 32.50/per person for a plate of wings & wedges it's, by Swiss standards, not a bad deal however the service leaves a lot to be desired.
There were 5 of us, 4 had wings while 1 ordered off the menu. The first plate of wings came out after about a 20min wait, these were crispy & quite nice. We then ordered another plate, after more than 20mins no plate arrived, when we called the waitress over she seemed perplexed that a second plate had not arrived; which is interesting seeing as you are served by the same waitress the whole night & she clearly hadn't bought another plate out. She went to 'investigate' & about 10/15mins later we received a fresh plate, this plate was terrible! The wings were soggy. One of the girls asked for another plate as her first plate was full of wings, the waitress took her plate & never returned.
It was only when we flagged the waitress down again that she realised she was supposed to bring another plate, 30mins earlier.
The restaurant was busy but by no means full, I would hate to think how slow the service would have been had the restaurant been full.
I don't think it's too much to ask that the waitress can fulfil orders, check on you from time to time, clear the table of empty bottles & plates & bring new orders out, however on this particular night this seemed to be an impossible task.
To be honest we have eaten here before & while the service has been acceptable on this particular night it was downright appalling. The food is acceptable but the wings didn't wow us, they were 'alright'.
Based on this experience we won't be returning, the waitress couldn't fulfil orders in German I would hate to try & order in English.
If you're looking for the 'real' Aussie experience I'm not sure this place is the place to go. There are lots of other restaurants in Winterthur with nicer food & much better service!
