“Worth the day and price”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

After reading several other reviews I was skeptical of this tour thinking it was going to be very structured, too much down time waiting on other tour participants etc. but we found it to be great. First of all, there is not really another way to connect in one day, on your own without a car, the cheese factory, the castle and the chocolate factory. We wanted to do all three and found each of them to be enjoyable. First, the scenery from Montreux to Gruyere was spectacular and we travelled on a panoramic train. The a lint of time allocated to the cheese factory was just the amount you needed for the tour, a bathroom stop, and a quick look in the shop. The time allocated for the town of gruyere was good for a walk through the castle and a nice lunch in the town. It was all self paced and you could do as much or as little as you wanted. You never felt like you were part of a big tour. The chocolate tour was very well presented and it is true you can eat as much chocolate as you want! The train ride back to Montreux we took a nap and were ready for an evening along the promenade and dinner. I highly recommend this trip.

“Great day out”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

What a good day out. Travelling in historical first class rail carriages with a visit to a cheese factory in Gruyere, a good stop for lunch and sightseeing in the pretty village of Gruyere and then a visit to the Cailler chocolate with (seemingly limitless) chocolate tasting at the conclusion. Excellent staff on the train who helped to make the day even more enjoyable.

“Wonderful Day Trip”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

The Chocolate Train leaves from Montreux. Most of the trip follows the same picturesque route the Swiss Golden Pass train takes. We traveled in a luxury Panoramic car while enjoying coffee or hot chocolate and a croissant. The first stop is at the Gruyeres cheese factory where we had an interesting tour that ended in the cheese shop. A bus then took us to the charming old town of Gruyeres for a visit to the castle and time for lunch (not included). Next we stoped at the town of Broc where we toured the Cailler chocolate factory. The factory tour was excellent and and so were the samples. This trip is a must if you have not taken the Golden Pass train route. The Chocolate Train tour is very well organized.. The scenery is exceptional and the chocolate out of this world.

“Good chocolate bad train trip”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

The cheese factory and town of greyer were nice to vist. The chocolate factory presentation was first class.
The train trip and scenery on they way there was great. The train then sat in the sun and became an oven. I was amazed that we were asked to get in the train, let alone endure the extremely uncomfortable trip back to Montreaux. The air conditioning did not work at all, the only relief was to stand between the carriages and hope for a breeze through the cracks.
