I did the walk every morning at sunrise. It was a beautiful 3 km walk passing flower bedecked corners and a succession of sculptures. Changing views of the snow covered mountains in the background really enhanced the experience.
Really isolated except for a stray jogger here and there.

A wonderful and relaxing walk along the lakeside - and unlike most other activities in Montreux its free! Set aside a few hours (or more) for this activity when visiting.

We have been going to Montreux for many years and the walk along the lakeshore is the highlight. The view of the Alps across the lake is stunning and the flowers and shrubs along the walk superb. You can walk for miles and should!

Flowers, trees, magnificent sculptures, and restaurants line the lakeside walk, which goes for miles through Montreux and neighboring towns. It is spectacular. The sculptures ranged from whimsical to modern. Some of them are totally different than I have ever seen anywhere. Sunrise, sunset, middle of the day... all are just amazing. We walked several times a day everyday we were in Montreux. Please go and see for yourself.

The Promenade along Lake Geneva is just lovely. Flowers beds adorned the promenade. Cute stands along the way. Want icecreme? Maybe cold drink? Whatever you want or not, just strolling is peaceful with the mountains in the distance. Enjoyed.

You can walk all along the lake from Villeneuve to Clarens, with the most interesting flowery section around Montreux, and exotic plants: date palms, tobacco plants, bananas, grenadines, giant magnolias... even in winter the gardeners fill the beds with heather, decorative cabbages and so on. Sculptures are dotted along the way - the most popular one being Freddie Mercury near the covered market in Montreux, always garlanded in flowers for his birthday in September.
