Chain-link fences topped with barbed wire, poor marmots. If you are looking forward to the marmots you will be disappointed, although the cog-railway is fun and the nearby alpine botanical garden a treat. However, one can only feel pity for the caged animals, all three of whom were local, cages of all the non-natives appeared abandoned. None of the "interactive" exhibits in the museum were working, surprised it hasn't been closed down. You can see more marmots on your average day hike in the Alps.

We paid a fortune for train tickets from Caux, with no-one anywhere telling us that what you would think you were paying the high price fare for, ie Marmot Paradis, at the top of the hill, wasn’t the attraction it once had been. Our past visits had shown us about 30 marmots from different parts of the northern hemisphere, and you could feed and compare them, find out more in the exhibition, and see them sleeping in burrows. Nothing seemed to work in the exhibition, and there were only 5 native marmots to see, with no explanation about what had happened to all the others previously in the hill side enclosures. We made the decision to get the train back down giving us about a 1 hour visit only, so didn’t have the time to see the alpine garden, so I can’t comment on that. A very expensive disappointment.

Beautiful montains and lots of nature, which is a place to visit and to enjoy the nature with of course lots of Marmot's around the place. Nice!

Thought we were going to see marmots in their natural habitat like the monkeys when we visited Arashiyama (Japan). But this wasn't the case. This is just the result of selfish humans robbing marmots from their natural habitat and putting them in a prison surrounded by an electric fence. The marmots even rely on the food given to them by humans. Far from their wild habitat. We regret visiting the place but at least I hope others will read this before going there.

Reachable by train or via hiking, the marmots at the Marmot's paradise at the top of Rochers-de-Naye bring a smile to anyone willing to observe their behavior for a few minutes ;)

Extremely helpful staff (volunteers) which will explain the plants and give you as much information as you want. Really enjoyed my time in the garden.

Nice outing with a cog train trip to the top, where there is a restaurant, toilets. Also you can walk up to the top or walk down, but we used train.

The views to the top were breath taking. We got there an hour before they closed and the restaurant is self service and there was no food. If you are planning to eat there make sure you find out when food is available. Fun to sit on the balcony and watch hikers climb the hill with their backpacks and then they come in and check into yurts. The countryside is gorgeous and the view from here is awesome.
