We tried two hotels during our recent stay in Montreux - this one and the Eden Palace. Both have stunning views over the lake, clean and good service. Because were travelling by train, this one was better being literally over the zebra crossing from Montreux station.

But the palace was nicer. Beautiful decor, tastefully appointed.

By comparison, the Majestic felt a bit more B&Q. And the en-suites door opens onto the bed which - hem - means you need to either practice your whitsling skills or time your moment!

It was a last minute decision to pass our weekend at Montreux and booked this hotel.
At the reception, the staff were not able to answer simple questions about a parking space which located just in front of the hotel (surely we're not the only guest asking about it).
No one escorting us to our room.
We were not informed about the breakfast hour and effectively we missed it and for having paid the rack rate, they couldnt even offer us a cup of coffee.
Our room was really small and the bed is a twin bed pushed in together which is not comfortable nor ideal for any guests in couples, worst thing is that when we asked about this, they said that THE WHOLE HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE DOUBLE BED IN ANY ROOM and I found this rather astonishing.
We found a very long blonde hair on the floor (certainly not mine!) and a very suspicous body hair on the bed, even before we got into the bed.

I hope the management would look into more details considering the 4 stars!!!

This is certainly our first and last stay.

Room Tip: check for better bed if there's any

We had a deluxe lake view room which cost not a huge amount more than a standard. As a result, we had a sensational view of lake and snow-topped mountains from the room and its
balcony. The bathroom was beautifully finished , if a touch cramped. (Bath but no bidet).
We didn't dine in , but breakfast is excellent and comprehensive and, with the same stunning view, the tempatation to linger is great, despite the coffee being a bit bland

Room Tip: Lake view a must really

Took our Grand daughter to visit Rocher de Naye and stayed at Hotel S M (again). Everyone made us welcome and the hotel put an additional "little" bed in the room for our Grand Daughter. They even made her bed a "mini" of ours with her own towels and toiletries, nice touch. Lovely time of the year to go to Montreux with just enough snow and the loveley Christmas Market

Room Tip: Simply must have on overlooking the lake. Push the boat out and get one with a balcony

We stayed for 2 nights here. We booked on octopus travel and got 2 nights plus breakfast for £295. Although this seemed quite a lot when we compared with other hotels in the area this seemed quite good. We have a 6 month old baby so it was very convenient. We arrived at 11am so I knew the room may not be ready yet but it was. They also upgraded us to a lake view room which was lovely. We had no one on either side of us which was good so that we didn't disturb anyone if baby cried. The staff were very helpful. They set up the cot for baby and leant us plug adapters. The breakfast was lovely too. We went to the Christmas market which is right in front of the hotel and to visit Father Christmas in rocher de naye. Both well worth it. Hotel is in such a good location for the town, train and lake/mountain views.

I ve spent 3 night at the hotel and I would like to say that had great experience. In my opinion, rates are moderate and the quality is quite high. Staff members provided excellent customer service. Rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is delicious. Please say thank you to the management of the hotel.

I stayed here for two nights for a business trip and having seen the rates, I'd have been disappointed if I had paid so much for a leisure journey. I thought the hotel was perfectly adequate. It is literally across the street from the station, no more than 30 seconds walk and another sixty seconds on the opposite side to the main part of town so location is about as ideal as ideal gets. The restaurant was nice, the room a little small and bland for a double deluxe, it had a grande feel and service as perfectly fine but for the rates they charge, I'd consider somewhere else if it was my own money I was paying.
