After spending some time looking at various hotel options in Montreux, we decided to take a chance on this B&B - and we're glad that we did. Although by no means cheap, the B&B provided us with a stylish room that would have cost much more at any of the hotel.
On first arrival we were a little unsure as access was by a pin code (to the building and bedroom) and there was no sign of the owners. But over the four nights of our stay we found that it was just the right balance - we had our own space but also found the hosts to be welcoming and helpful. The breakfast, although not on the scale of a hotel buffet, provided a good range of fresh choices which was a little different each day. There were also some thoughtful touches like fresh apricots and plums being left out for guests to help themselves to, along with access to the fridge. The only disadvantage of this communal kitchen was that all bedrooms were immediately off of it and therefore it could become noisy in the evening if other guests chose to socialise in there.
The bedroom was very modern in style - especially the bathroom - and, although next to a road, wasn't noisy. In fact, the location proved to be a real advantage - a bus stop within metres on a bus route from the station (you'll need to have change and buy a ticket from the machine at the back of the bus), on the edge of the much more attractive and quieter Old Town, but still within walking distance of the town centre and lakeside areas.
All in all this proved to be just right for us and will be for anyone looking for a good value relaxed choice. . ,
