“Wonderful views”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

We stayed one night at this location, we were in our own car and found parking a bit of a problem having to walk some way with overnight bags from car. Accommodation was fine, bed very comfortable, toilet and shower arrangement quite strange, it s behind glass screen at head of bed and was a little cramped, didn't have breakfast and only met owner very briefly to pay for room which has to be in cash as credit cards not accepted. The view from room was lovely, when we had eventually worked out how electric blinds worked! So many remote controls etc, 3 tvs in room, few random chairs and fold away beds too made it bit crowded. Overall thought it was expensive for what you got but this is Switzerland and its an expensive place!

Stayed here for 2 nights in June in their larger room for two adults and 2 kids and LOVED each moment of it. The place is right in front of the bus stop from the train station so very easy to get to, but we decided to walk from the train station and even this only took us about 20 mins despite lugging a large suitcase, two backpacks, one smaller roller suitcase and a baby stroller. It is located up a hill a bit away from the city center yet very close to town and close to gorgeous tourist locations like the old church that is right behind it high above which gives you an awesome view of the lake and mountains around. You need to email in advance since this place is always booked solid well in advance as they only have 3 rooms. Veronique, the owner is wonderful. She is very prompt with emails and very caring and attentive. My kids enjoyed her splendid breakfasts each day and chatting with her on places to see and do. Her brother is a cheesmaker who lives in the mountains nearby and she shared his delightful cheeses with us along with other organic breakfast items like local breads, pastries, milk and cold cuts. The room itself is one very large room with panoramic windows that open up with automatic shutters to give you a majestic view of the lake and mountains nearby (even though there is a house in front, you see over its roof) and to wake up to such a scene each day is truly an experience. It was cleaned spotlessly daily. We had one large king bed and two single beds separately for the kids. There were 2 flat screen TVs in each area, had an in room safe, loads of travel books to read and a very chic glass bathroom which we had to remind the little kids constantly to go slow with since it had a sliding glass door (one caveat when having small kids here). The AC was very strong which was helpful since the days did get warm in June but at night, the temps dropped down and so did not need it as much. The breakfast room is right outside the room and has a small patio area that opens up again to the awesome views of the alps and lake below. Overall would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend staying here when in the Montreaux/Vevey or Lausanne area even... Vevey is a short bus ride away and the Montreux Riviera card that Veronique gives you (most hotels and BnBs will give this to tourists booked here) allows one to travel freely within the Montreux/Vevey/Chillon (where the castle is located) area. Lausanne is a short 20 min train ride away also from Montreux. Wonderful, wonderful trip to Montreux made even more so by the warm hospitality of Veronique and her gorgeous little bed and breakfast place.

Room Tip: Get the larger room facing the front of the street to get the fantastic view!

A wonderful stay in breathtaking surroundings. Yves and Veronique are charming, helpful and relaxing. We absolutely loved our stay here. Situated conveniently across from a bus stop, yet, in a quiet area with priceless views of lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains. A short pleasant walk to montreaux town centre and chateaux chillon.

The location is convinient, the hostess is nice (even drove us to the station when we've missed the bus), the breakfast was good. We stayed at the suite - it's spacious enough for 3 persons for 2 nights but I'm not sure about more. If there were 2 of us - it would be better. The beds are very, very confortable etc.

The only problem was the bathroom. It's separated from the room (in fact - from the head of the double bed) by opaque glass wall. It doesn't provide _any_ soundproofing and you can figure out silhouetteы through it. And on the top - it has glass door which moves with rattling noise. It's annoying during the day and it's crucial at 3am in the night when someone get up to pee - it happens just behind the head(s) of the sleeping person(s). I'm sure that for _some_ groups of travelers this is not a problem and as I loved everything else I'll recommend the place for those who are not light sleepers or travels with teenagers :)

Room Tip: I recommend "suite" - it's comfortable for 2 persons

We selected this from the internet and it was a terrific choice. The location was perfect - away from the lakeside with stunning views and just around the corner from the old town. Our room was bright and spotlessly clean. The breakfast (which was only an extra 10 francs, so very cheap by Australian standards!) was superb. Everything organic and free range - wonderful cheeses made by Veronique's brother and jams made by her mother as well as lovely breads and croissants etc. The owners were charming hosts and we enjoyed stimulating conversations with them at breakfast. They were very helpful in recommending restaurants in the old town for evening meals. If we ever return to Montreux we would definitely stay here again.

we only had a one night stop in Montreux. So we decide not to go for an expensive hotel. So this small BnB caught my eyes on TA forums. I read reviews and booked. And I might say that We were not disappointed at all. Due to some communication gap(as we booked direclty) we couldnt get the suite. SO we settled with the small room downstairs but still the room was beautiful. And Veronique, as her gratitude offered us breakfast which was very nice of her.
Although the hotel is at a distance from the train station but you can catch bus no 206 and get down at MIDI stop and its right there. and the buses are every 20 minutes.
For location, it was very easy to reach Castle Chillon by foot and Lake promenade is just 5 minutes walk away.
The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless.
Everything is code locked so remember to take along your code provided.

We would stay here again definitely.

This place should not call itself a Bnb...because by definition the price of a BnB includes breakfast... Belalp doesnt.

Pros:
reasonably close to the center
free parking nearby
clean
new bathroom

Cons:
to cramped/ too much furniture in the room
felt like being in a box/ cellar... one window on a corner and one tiny one, very high up at street level
does not deserve to be called 'design', decor is ok, but nothing out of this world
never even saw nor met the 'innkeepers' - no welcome nothing (in my opinion this is the nice part about being in a BnB versus a hotel, you get personalized tips etc.)
way too expensive for what it is, knowing the place I would pay max. CHF 120 for a double room incl. b/fast

Summary:
For the price I wouldn't recommend it
