Located in the port area across the street from Lake Geneva. Close to the metro, boat rides, the International Olympic Museum, a grocery store, bakeries, restaurants, and beautiful strolls along the lake. If you're struggling to choose between the Old Town and the Port area, go for the port. In the Old Town and immediate surrounding areas we ran into some hard partiers - one drunk "assured" us not to worry that all the pizza places had been taken over by the Chinese (apparently a twisted compliment to my wife who is Japanese). There is an immigration issue here and we were made to feel uneasy around Old Town, whereas in the port life seemed much more relaxed and even keel. The hotel staff was very helpful, breakfast good, and views of the lake fantastic. When planning this trip I had tried to get into other hotels in this area and found them either booked up or prohibitively expensive. Hotel du Port was just right.
