Owner description: CGN offers many possibilities to relax on the lake for the pleasure of your eyes and of your taste buds due to a high quality of gastronomy. For an hour or a whole day you will sail in the most beautiful lemanic landscapes discovering the vineyards of Lavaux, the Chillon castle, the Alps and the Mont-Blanc, the fabulous medieval town of Yvoire and the famous water fountain of Geneva.

Decommissioned in 2002, the Helvetie was built in 1923 as the third steam boat of the CGN fleet. Now docked at a pier opposite the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, it serves as an auxiliary museum highlighting the history of the Modern Olympic movement from 1996 to the present. Beautifully restored and renovated from 2013-2014, entry is complimentary and well worthy a stop.
A fleet of CGN Belle Époque steam ships still cruise Lake Geneva with a variety of itineraries and ports of call.

There are a lot of trips you can do on the CGN Boats. I personally usually take them to coss the lake from Lausanne to Evian on a sunny summer day. It's a relatively short ride but gives you a nice view of the Swiss and French side. Have a stroll and lunch in Evian and come back later in the afternoon. Tickets are pretty pricey though !

Get on board with a day pass and get off when you want and where you want. Enjoy the sun, the lake, the scenery, the soft wind in our face as you pass over the glassy lake surface.

What a lovely way to travel around the lake, routes are rather limited but a great way to see the surrounding villages.

We often decide to take a CGN boat (Paddle Boat best) from Versoix (You can also go from Geneva) on a round trip taking 1.5 hours. There is a nice restaurant (Catered by Lake Gourmet) where the staff know how to get you a 3 course meal in the time available. The choice of course is very limited but quality & price (55 sFr each) are excellent.Today's main was a beautiful fish dish.
If you want to chill out I recommend this.
Note: Versoix is in between Geneva & Lausanne.
