The position hard by the port and the lake and mountain views from the rooms are so lovely that the slightly tired decor of the hotel is hardly worth a comment. My room on the fourth floor was large and good value (especially when compared to Geneva rates) and the staff were very friendly indeed. This is a perfect place for a relaxed day or two lounge around the lake, but if you want stiff formality, extortionate rates and a glimpse of the matching luggage of failed TV celebrities I suggest you stay at the Rivage or Angleterre.

Room tip: Traffic noise not a problem at weekend so do not fail to ask for a lake view

The hotel has an excellent location. The staff is friendly. The hotel is not luxurious though. The rooms are clean but old and not pretty. They are also small. It was good enough for a quick business trip and the price was fair enough.

was on a business trip and the company booked me into this hotel. It was just a little more than a 10min walk down the hill from the station, but at least with all hotels where you stay they give a free metro pass to use when your there. The metro station was right next to the hotel, so a plus point there.
OK, I would say that this is a 3 star hotel in my review. The moth ball smell in the hotel was a little overpowering , but in the rooms there was no smell.
The room I was in was very very small, but I suppose it was a single room.
It was very clean. Forget about a view, I was at the rear of the hotel so I just had a fire escape.
The evening meal and breakfast was rather good, so no problem there.
In all, it was a ok hotel, just that the room was very very small.
The staff was great & helpful

Room tip: try and get a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking Lake Geneva

An ideal, reasonably priced hotel for visiting Lausanne and the surrounding area. With the super efficient Metro literally next door giving access to the city and to the rail station at Lausanne Gare you could not be better placed. The free Metro pass was a big bonus. The tourist office was also nearby. The rooms facing onto the lake were fine with the usual facilities. Curtains, carpets and decoration a bit tired but very clean with a comfortable bed. Most of the staff spoke English and were very helpful and efficient. Lovely walks nearby into the Olympic Park and along the lakeside. Like other contributors I must give a cost warning since the pound dipped in value. Eating out is extremely expensive and at least two or three times more costly than we would expect in the UK.

Room tip: Higher rooms quieter and despite have day time traffic overnight was peaceful and undisturbed..
