We did an overnight stay at this hotel after several days hiking around the Alps. We decided to stay in Lausanne because it was 1 hour from Geneva airport and we had an early flight the next day.

The online reservation procedure was easy and follow up information was delivered by the hotel staff regarding parking arrangements and getting around the city with the public transportation card we were given upon arrival.

We booked a family room, which is the same as a double room but with a pull-out bunk bed to the side. There wasn´t much space for baggage or others....

There was no A/C in the room, and it was hot, and our second floor room was close enough to the street that when sleeping with the window open (it was hot) the conversations and screaming fun from pedestrians was bothersome. There was a tabletop fan placed in the room but there was no outlet near it to plug it in anywhere...

The location was great, walking distance to the Olympic Museum and the Lake. The free public transportation card allowed us to visit the old town using the Metro, which is literally next door to the hotel.

When compared to other hotels we stayed in the country, this hotel was not what we expected for the price we payed.

We didn´t get breakfast in the hotel, because there are plenty of cafés in the area.

Overall, I would think about a different place to stay in the area.

Room tip: Middle of the hall rooms have a terrace you can walk out to.

Fantastic hotel. Room 511 had the best views of the entire hotel. Staff was friendly, and the hotel was close to everything!!! The room needs a few improvements, but the views made up for it. We will be returning for our next visit to Switzerland!!

We went for one night to hotel Aulac in Lausanne in August.

The location of the hotel is very good, as it is easy to reach. If you are coming to Lausanne by car, it is on the Main Street of the lake. If by train, u take the metro infront of the train station where you leave at the last stop which is facing the lake and walk few steps to the hotel.
We booked a room for three. It was a bit small, but ok as you basically need it to spend the night only.
The view from the balcony is beautiful.
It was a bit noisy with music outside on the week end, but it stopped around midnight.
The thing that we thought this hotel needs is AC. It was relatively hot, and having AC would make the stay more pleasant.
But taking breakfast on the balcony the following morning and having the unique view of Ouchy made us think it is worth it to stay at this hotel.
We might consider coming again.

We stayed on the second floor with a lake view and a balcony. The room was fine - and whilst it was quite noisy from the traffic, the shutters and blinds completely cut the noise for sleeping. Good views of the lake and activities.Beds very comfy but bathroom small and minimal. We ate three times at Le Pirate on the terrace. The first time impromptu- as a result of which we made a reservation on the terrace for a second meal which was fine. The meal was lovely and we had a good bottle of wine. When the bill arrived, the wine had been omitted and we told the waiter who thanked us for our honesty and amended the bill to include the wine. We made another reservation for our last evening- for a table on the terrace again. When we arrived, the terrace was closed because of heavy rain but no provision for our reservation had been made at any of the inside tables. Neither the restaurant or the hotel had made any effort to contact us and no table was reserved for us inside, We were squeezed in after we made a fuss but it could have been much worse if there had been no tables available- we would have had no option but to walk out in the pouring rain in search of somewhere else to eat. The restaurant made no effort to compensate for this upset and the hotel were not interested when we complained. This lack of concern and common courtesy was very disappointing as we had been basically satisfied with everything else up until that point. What a shame that such a simple lack of consideration for our reservation had been ignored. The hotel has now offered us a free meal when we next return-but as we are unlikely to be in Lausanne again, we asked for some form of refund towards the meal that we ate on our last day there. We have been advised that 'There will be no refund. Only a gesture of goodwill if we return to the hotel.' We also advised the hotel of our honesty in respect of the wine that was initially omitted from the bill for our second meal there, but they remain unchanged in their response to our complaint.

Room tip: Rooms with lake views are good with lovely balconies but can be a bit noisy.

We had a balcony overlooking the waterfront. Room 211. It was perfect! There were great restaurants, and lots of water activities to choose from. The hotel employees were all friendly and very helpful. Next time, we plan to take the ferry over to France, as we did not get a chance to do this. We would definitely stay in this hotel again!

Room tip: Room 211 has a balcony. Not all rooms have balconies, so ask ahead. Worth the extra money!
