“Luxury in Lausanne”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

I stayed here for two nights during the week leading to the Geneva Motorshow. Despite being very busy there remained an air of serenity and luxury about the place. Public areas are very impressive and the rooms I stayed in were very well-appointed, clean and tastefully decorated. They managed my booking without fault when I had to move rooms (for logistical reasons related to my company, not through any fault of the hotel's).

Sadly I was very busy and did not get time to take in the full experience but the brief time I did get there left me in no doubt about the quality of the hotel and its beautiful location.

Dear Figbat,

Thanks for having taken the time to review us on Tripadvisor. I am delighted to learn you enjoyed your stay with us although you didn’t have the time to see and discover all what our hotel has to offer. Next time you come you should visit the Spa. The access is complimentary for our hotel guests.
Please come back soon, our colleagues are looking forward to welcoming you back.

Warm regards,

Alexandra

This is Swiss elegance at its finest: a lovely, calm, spacious spa whose veranda looks out onto a terrace with the Alps in the background. Our room was large and prettily furnished with an absolutely amazing view of Lake Geneva and the Alps. My only complaint is, as in many luxury hotels, the prices of extras--about 15 euro to iron one shirt, very expensive bar and drinks. Breakfast was way too pricey. Also, although there are several bars and restaurant in the hotel itself, on Saturday night it was impossible to find even one reasonably quiet one in which to have a conversation.

Room Tip: Absolutely get a room with a view of the lake!!!!!

My husband I went to Lausanne to visit our son and we booked this Hotel because we could walk there from the station which is OK if you just have an overnight bag. Old style Hotel and a comfortable room, we paid extra to have a view of the lake. ...it seemed rather pointless staying there and not having a view The Bar area is slightly dull , lacking in any colour and the staff were rather slow at serving. The Concierge was most helpful in booking us restaurants and taxis.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor but I would suggest booking a room higher up and over looking the l...

Amazing hotel.. Simply wonderful. The building is historic, the rooms are so nice and it's a luxury I mean.. If you really wanna spoil yourself it's the right place to go to, you get free metro cards to go to the city which is a few minutes away too! a few shops on each side it's really nice I'd recommend it. Everything in the hotel is fantastic. 10/10

no matter if you are in Lausanne for pleasure or for business, the Lausanne Palace hotel is the best place in town to spend a few days or even a longer period.
Service is "impecable", Staff's attitude is out of this world, comparable with high-class Asian hotels. Location of the hotel is wonderfull and eguipment super.

Room Tip: Higher rooms may have less disturbance of the street-noise, although also 1st or 2nd floor located r...

Had a wonderful 2 day stay at the Lausanne Palace and Spa. Had a lovely room at the front of the hotel with a really characterfull bathroom. Agree with other people's comments re the lovely wide coridors, which really gives a sense of grandeur to the place as well as the pleasant surprise when being told that the mini-bar was free of charge and cleanliness and service being top notch. We had the opportunity to spend time in the spa facilities as well and they were wonderful and well maintained. There was just something about this hotel - it had a lovely atmosphere about it, not only because it was very nicely decorated for the Xmas period. Would definately recommend this hotel when staying in Lausanne.

A heritage hotel that get the details right. It's hard to imagine a new hotel being built with the quality and wide corridors as this. As one would expect in a Swiss hotel, the cleanliness is outstanding - not a small feat when all the fittings are metal and it is a high labour cost country. I had a short stay with time only for breakfast, which was fantastic. The service is what great European service should be discreet, quiet, helpful and there when you need it. A totally different concept of good service than from Mumbai where I was coming from
